Keyboard and Mouse

welcome to the boards :)

as far as I know.... there is not a way. I think Microsoft specifically made the Xbox that way so it gave it more of a console look... and not to be associated with a PC.

There might be a 3rd party keyboard that I don't know about though.

Well I've never played FFXI because I'm just not into the whole online playing thing, but why would a keyboard be required?
 
to comunicate with the others, it is an MMORPG. MMORPG=Keyboard Required, on the PS2 version, which is the one I have, they have it where you can talk without keyboard, but it is like typing in a name on any old game, you move a cursor with the controller to pick a letter to make words, very aggreavating and slow, plus people wont play with you if you dont have a keyboard and use that, becuase it messes up the flow of the game
 
This is my first console game system in a long tiime. I've been a PC purist up to now. I've been using a keyboard and mouse for so long so I'm not a big fan of the console game controllers. I wish they gave you the option to use a keyboard/mouse to control.

I doubt they well..

Microsoft has been very adamant about not providing a keyboard / mouse situation to keep the Xbox as a "console" system and not looked at as a PC.

Hmmm well they better do something cause FFXI will fail miserably then on the 360, Sony did not make a keyboard, but the PS2 has usb ports, and logitech made the coolest controller ever called the Netplay controller, which is a PS2 conroller with a keyboard in the middle of it, which I have and love.

yeah.. if I am right, ascii made that type of controller 1st for the Gamecube in Japan.. for Phantasy Star Online 1/2 ... they are GREAT! Very helpful.

BUT... we'll see if Microsoft lets this happen... their stance with the Xbox was "No keyboard, no mouse."

Well, some websites won't allow links to magazine scans, since it can potentially hurt the magazines profits or whatever. I'll get some scans soon though.
