July issue of EGM claims that Microsoft and RARE are hard at work on a new Killer Instinct...

Whow asnt this that game that was like MOrtal Kombat except with brutalizing animals that had green blood and stuff, if so this maybe a ballin good game.

If they remove blood and incorporate RPG and Adventure Platforming elements then this could easily win Game of the Year, hands down no questions asked no objections or rejections.

What would removing the blood do? Plenty of games with blood in it have won Game of the Year. And when's the last time a fighting game got Game of the Year? I honestly don't know this. Not ripping on the genre.

We are living in unconventional times, with things like Wii Fit around, the entire ballgame now has a set of new rules. Fighting games, the time to act is now!

Unconventional times or not, I don't see how removing the blood is going to help it.

I guess I meant to have that Secret Special code that lets you determine the amount of blood you get to see and that blood colour changing one as well?

Killer Instinct is a fighter. There should be no platforming or adventure aspect of the game. Just fighting. As for the blood the fighters that do include Blood usually have an option to make it so that blood doesn't show. So your points would be pointless and if they did what you say it would not be Game of the Year type of game since Killer Instinct IS a fighter.

But on this third go around they could incorporate some sort of additional thing that Soul Calibur Legends has done, it would be just as phenomenal as that game if not better. Trust.

soul calibur legends was just a spin-off, this is a sequel, and while an adventure mode might not kill the game it would be just an extra (kinda like super smash bros brawl)

Soul Calibur Legends? It's average review was terrible...averaging a 56%. You can trust that Killer Instinct would be a terrible game, just like Soul Calibur Legends if it used any kind of platforming or extra non-needed garbage.

With the right team under the belt, with experience and such, then it can overcome the shortcomings of SCL and become a shining beacon, like that Mortal Kombat Submode that was praised in earlier generations.

Wait you mean the Mortal Kombat game where you can only be Sub Zero and all it was was platforming? That was garbage and one of the worst Mortal Kombat spin offs.

Was it a full game? I know there was a full Mortal Kombat brawler/platformer, but I didn't think that featured Sub-Zero. I thought he was talking about the half-***ed adventure mode they put in some of the other Mortal Kombat's.

Yeah Im talking about the adventure mode in some of the Mortal Kombats, I always thought it was referred to as one of the best that someone has ever attempted, wasnt there also some sort of chess like mode as well"?

Oh the Sub Zero one was on the PSX same with the Mortal Kombat Special Combat Whatever game where you played as Jax and Sonya in a 3D crapfest. The adventure mode in Mortal Kombat Deception was decent but it wasn't good, I liked it. The Chess was kinda cool except you could get boned if you had chosen the wrong set up.

See wide appeal, thus if KIIII incorporated these additional aspects except made them much of a focus of the game then I could imagine that it would be one of the best fighters created to date, GOTY worthy, hands down, no fists barred.

See that's when things falter. Wide mass appeal does not mean GOTY material. Hell, when was the last time a Fighter was Game of the Year (or ever for that matter). Secondly, if any fighter has a chance to make GOTY it will have to be Street Fighter 4
