i remember hearing about this a long time ago, a new kirby game for gamecube

what ever happened to it? was it cancelled?

Yep. Believe me, I was ecstatic when I heard about this game (Who would've figured I like Kirby? >__>), then when it sort of just dropped out of the radar I was sad. :(

They needed something big for launch, and although TP wasn't upgraded graphically, they did fix the controls for the Wii. :)

And I think Nintendo owns HAL.
 
They've had a while to work on it, though. I mean they haven't even announced a Kirby for the Wii, have they? So no one is expecting it, which gives them more time to fix it I guess? :)

They haven't done anything besides show some screens and say it exists. They have a lot of freedom to use.
