List your Top 10 essential gamecube games

I dont know if you read my post right nightwolf. I didnt say that it belongs on the cube either. I said that I would have liked for it to stay there simply because it would help Nintendo by bringing in more fans to its console. Thats it. I never said it belongs on Cube. And you pretty much validated my point with this.

The entire reason why they released Resi 0 on the cube in the first place was to try to get more people to buy it.

Thats what Ive been saying all along. Thats why I wished it stayed on the cube.

Nightwolf, the Resident Evil games are not the only adult games. They are in terms in content (ie bad language and gore) but if you only find games with bad language and gore good, you shouldn't call yourself a gamer anyway. Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Rouge Sqadron and Baiten Kaitos are games that, although don't have adult material, (well ED kinda does) can still be played by adults that don't only dig games with gore. Because they aren't "kiddy" in any way and mature audiences can play them.

Bv, Stealth was quite right about Baiten Kaitos (even if he hasn't played it). It does suffer from being boring.

I guess my point was... he didn't play it. If he did and said it was boring, thats different. I thought the game was fun. Many others have enjoyed it as well. The reviewers gave it good scores.... it was a well done game.

It might not fit into "everyone's" liking though. But my point was playing it :)

Apparently BK is really awesome once you get into it. But it's hard to get into. The visuals are great but the characters seem bland at first, and the voice-acting is horrible. I have the game and I've played about 6 hours into it. Maybe I'll get back to it someday. But there's far better rpgs out there such as Tales of Symphonia and Xenosaga that grab you from the beginning. Or at least they grabbed me from the start.

maybe its the whole card thing?

I like card style games....
Thats why I liked PSO3... card rev.

As Penny Arcade so adequately stated, why would you want to battle with pictures of swords when you can battle with real swords instead? Seriously, BK looked like a waste of time. If a game doesn't grab my attention then its probably not worth giving my attention, and in this case, I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Speaking of me being right, BV, I find it kind of funny how you acknowledge that what I said about those games was my opinion, but then you say my opinions are wrong. Perhaps the one about BK might be, because I haven't actually played it, but other than that I think my opinions were pretty well founded. If your looking for some "slighted" opinions, I would look no further than these Nintendo forums, where blind faith seems to be the name of the game. It really seems like sometimes you guys like games because they're made by Nintendo. They're not infallible you know, its alright to admit that they made some mistakes. Even Reginald Fils-Aime (Nintendo PR guy) admitted that connectivity was a bust, that launching the GC in purple was a mistake, and other things like that.

I am in no means saying they were perfect.

I could have thought of better things to do with the connectivity.... things worthwhile (even though some features are cool).
I did say "SOME" of your opinions were wrong. But I agreed with a few of your correct ones :D

Well, in Baiten Kaitos, you do still see your characters attack with swords and such, the card system is just a different way of choosing your attacks/defense. It's then shown on screen.

I'm not sure what I make of the games card-system. It's different, i'll give it that, but it still could of been much better.

No offense, but...Wrong and wrong.

I personally don't like all Nintendo games just because they are Nintendo. I hated Pokemon Collosseum, for example. And my favorite games this generation (Tales of Symphonia and God of War) are not even by Nintendo. Where would that put me on your scale of Nintendo fanboyism?

Second, of course Nintendo has made mistakes. No online, launching in purple, the e-reader, the Virtual Boy. It's not that I don't realize they have made mistakes, it's that I don't care. At least not enough to bring them up all the time, as many people seem eager to do when they launch into their anti-Nintendo rants.

Honestly, do you ever have anything positive to say anymore? It gets so annoying having to "defend" my opinions, when really if that's how I feel about it, let me feel that way, and don't try to convince me otherwise. I mean really, do you (not you personally) really think that you're going to convince me that I should hate Nintendo? It's not going to happen. However people may feel about Nintendo, it's my opinion that they still make great games.

If I am a fangirl (and I would agree with that to some degree), then at least I'm on the right forum.

Well, in another thread you stated that Nintendo games were the best games in the world, so I'd say on a scale of 1 to fanboy (or fangirl, whatever) you're pretty much at the top.

Honestly, do you ever have anything positive to say anymore?

A lot of times posts ask for opinions about games, meaning good and bad. I may be wrong, but I haven't see many "lets talk about how good ____ is" threads, so I can say whatever I want about a game, be it good or bad. And if you want to see some of my positive posts, go to the Xbox board.

It gets so annoying having to "defend" my opinions, when really if that's how I feel about it, let me feel that way, and don't try to convince me otherwise.

I'm not "trying to convince you otherwise", I'm just trying to get you to see my side of things. If you find it annoying to defend your opinions then don't. Go to the next post, ignore my post, whatever, I don't care, you don't have to justify anything to me. So if you don't want to defend your opinions from me, that's fine, no one is forcing you to.

If I am a fangirl (and I would agree with that to some degree), then at least I'm on the right forum.

I'm a fan of videogames. That is my basis for coming to these boards. More than that I own a GC and play GC games, so I come here to talk about those games. The fact that I've had mostly "negative" experiences with these games doesn't mean my posts don't belong here. I have just as much a right to talk about a game regardless of whether or not I liked it. If you just want everyone to agree with you all the time and rally around how great the game you like is, then good luck, cuz that ain't gonna happen, no matter which forums you're on.

It's pretty hard to ignore negative posts these days when that's all anyone is posting.  :(

I don't know, I guess I just don't know when to let it go. I'm sorry to have argued so much. It's not that important.

I guess all I'm trying to say personally is that I'm not a blind fanboy that has only ever played Nintendo games on Nintendo systems. I have a pretty nice collection of games and systems. (http://users.ign.com/collection/grrlgamer4ever) Sometimes it just kinda seems like people don't understand how I can still be a Nintendo fan after seeing what other systems have to offer. And the answer to that is just that we have different tastes. I like the games that Nintendo makes, and for many, that's not the case (except for Zelda games).

But anyways, I still stand by my list.

Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Soul Calibur II
Animal Crossing
Metroid Prime
Pikmin
F-Zero GX

cool collection :)

I checked it out.  you know whats crazy..... I have nearly as many PC games as I have Gamecube and N64 games.... in fact, I would venture to say I have more pc games than those 2 combined.
most aren't worth anything anymore *Pc games are valueless, I believe* but.... pc is still one of my favorite things to play games on.

Interestly, my GC has been collecting dust lately. I've mostly been playing stuff on the PS2, like Xenosaga and God of War, and I busted out with Lunar Silver Star Story (PS1) last night. When I'm not on the PS2, I play my DS.

I go through phases.

All my systems have been making way for the PC as of late. this normally happens though.

I have been wanting to break out the GC... but I am always on the PC... so Its easier to start up a game.
I did break out NHL Hitz 2002 a couple days ago. Cooool game.

I had to take the batteries out of my Wavebird and put them in the controller for the VCR. Now I have the VCR unplugged but I'm too lazy to put the batteries back in my Wavebird. Plus, I have so many GC games I can never decide which one to play.

I go through phases too. Most of this year i've been playing nothing but PS2, but since the arrival of Megaman Aniversary Collection, (which i'm addicted to and play a LOT) Resident Evil 4 and Baiten Kaitos, i've switched back to my GC.

I go through phases with games, but rarely with entire systems. :lol

I guess I cycle between generations of systems from time to time (bust out the Sega Gen or 64 for a month or two at a time).

This just in. I heard about the PS2 version of Resi4, and it's confirmed they have the entire team working on it to make it the best Resi ever, and although it might not looks as good as the Cube version it will have more levels, more monsters and more weapons. Shortly it will looks a bit worse than on Cube, but it will be worth it.

Oh, and Resi 5 is confirmed for PS3, but not for the Cube. ;)
