Mute

yesterday I was at a friend's place, and noticed that someone was playing a turn/menu style LOTR game  :o :o  I didn't have time to go look and see what platform it was but I'm REALLLLLLLLLY hoping that it was PS2.  Anyone know?!?!

people have recommended this game to me, but I never checked it out. Anyone here own it?

You talking about LOTR: The Third Age I belive.

And yea, it's for all three. Even GBA.

Schweet, thats next on my list to buy! The one thing I noticed about it tho.. the main character ran like a hunchback. lol. Anyone played it and have a review?? ;D

the lord of the rings the third age is RPG that has a few flaws. but overall is a ok game

first EVERY LOTR games have the authentic actors to do the voices the people they use are blatant nock offs that sound funny.

the graphics of the game is fine but could be better. it is similar to LOTR return of the king

you don't play as any of the chars in the lord of the rings trilogy you play someone that is similar to aragorn. you eventually pick up a few members from the fellowship.

the game is a good length and is fun for a while but its a rent at best.

it gets a 7/10

thats what I like about it, sure it could be a rip-off, but I still wanna play it.  FFX is what really caught me up in PS2..  I think its cool that they tried to put their own spin on the same battle system. and hell, maybe it will inspire more really awesome games like FFX.  None will compare I think, but in my opinion it will be neat to see what new twists and turns people can throw into the field.

your right mute, the only thing that can top final fantasy is final fantasy. ;)

ahhh, don't you guys just love us final fantasy fans.. :D

If you're into FF-ish games, I can recommend three games right now so you don't have to play LOTR: Third Age. It's not good.

* Kingdom Hearts: This started when a guy from Square Enix ran into a guy from Disney Japan, and they joked about a game that would combine Final Fantasy with Disney. But before you know it, Kingdom Hearts was released. ;)

* Kingdom Hearts 2: Although not out yet, it can't go much wrong.

* Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. It's pretty much like Final Fantasy (even made by Square Enix), but has real-time combat, spans two discs (which should say something about how long it is) and great voice over throughout the entire game. I should perhaps mention it was released in Japan with so many bugs the game was unplayable, but they made a Director's Cut version that removed most bugs, added a few more characters and leves, and released the entire thing in the US. Personally, I think it's better than any Final Fantasy out there. Well, except Final Fantasy X-2 of course. It's the direct sequel to FFX.

I've played Kingdom Hearts... rented it from the video store one day and kept it for 3 weeks... thought it would be better to just go out and buy it. lol

I CAN'T WAIT for KH2!!!! :woot I'm so excited about that game too!

I've looked at star ocean before, maybe I'll buy it and see what happens. lol all I need is another game to pull me away from the rest of the world!

Star Ocean plays a lot like Kingdom Hearts as you see the enemies all the time, the battles are real-time and all that, but it's much better. And if you want to get away from the real world, don't worry. Star Ocean should take you at least 80-100+ hours to finish, but it's not a problem to spend 300+ hours if you want. It depends on how much you want to do.

Well, the only one I've heard about is that Snake guy kissing some other guy in Metal Gear Solid 3. And there's that blonde guy in MGS2. (not confirmed gay, but he's not fooling anyone.) :D

I doubt there is a gay scene in Star Ocean for some reason, but I won't be surprised to hear about some gay person in the next Final Fantasy. A bigger and better question however would be why anyone care so much about it. So what if a person is gay? Does it matter?
