The New York Times is reporting that four of Japan's biggest manga publishers have formed a joint venture with an unnamed software company to bring digital versions of their comics to the Wii.

Kadokawa, Kodansha, Shueisha and Shogakukan formed Librica earlier this month and plan to drop their comics on the Wii Ware channel. The newly formed company also plans to bring their comics to the DS. Hopefully, they'll allow you to transfer purchased comics from one to the other.

No timing or price were mentioned in the short Times piece. It also doesn't address whether the service will be coming to the U.S. as well.

*begs for USA release* :D

I thought we already knew this for a long time back? Regardless, I guess we need that storage solution fast

if you already knew about this then post an article that said so before this one was even released.....and the storage solution is not a problem for me, once i read a manga y either put it on my SD card to read it later or re-download it later (if it comes to america)
 
Well people dont want to lug around tons of SD cards and you arent indictive of every single Wii Owner in America.

And I Was just stating that we had already heard news months ago that they were bringing this to the Wii, the details of today (and even the article says month ago) show that we now know who are the ones bringing the manga and we also know what the title will be.

Because they're so heavy and large, and barely carry any data. Also, why would you have to carry them around as opposed to, I dunno, leaving them with your Wii that doesn't travel with you?

You're right, he's in the minority that may need more space. Most Wii owners do not.
