Melee...

Ok, I know this game has been out for years now... but I am now certain that this is the best multiplayer game made. I have played this sense the first day it came out, and except for a two month stop, I have not ceased to play this game among my friends. Sure, we play a fair share of Four Swords, Mario Party ect, but after all these years we still gather around and play Melee for a few hours without a break. All the while joking, freaking out, and screaming at the excetment this game brings us.

Thinking about it... it's almost the perfect game. It hasn't gotton old, I'm always getting better and better at it, and it gives me more fun then I've had with any other game. Any one have any idea why?

Its just a perfect game. Not many games that come out can do this.... and I have ONLY had experiences like this on Nintendo and Neo Geo systems.... SAme thing with my friends....

The game is just frenzied..... fast, furious, competitive, and VERY fun :)

I'd like to take you on in the game :D

I havent played in a while, and i was usually fox or mario...........but the last couple times i played i started to learn link, and got kinda decent with him

One other thing about the game... with me and my friends there seems to be only one person that one of us could prefect. Sure, we could get decent with some other ones, but it's a feeling I get while playing with Ness, I'm in tune with the movements and I can't do that with any one else. I'm pretty good with Zelda/Sheik, but I don't even have to think when playing as Ness, I just let my body take over.

Anyone else like this?

I haven't played this in a while. My cousin borrowed it from me and I haven't got it back. When this first came out, I was addicted to it. I mastered almost every character and got most of the trophies.

My favorite characters were Link, that blue haired guy you unlock (can't remember his name), Jigglypuff, and Pikachu :D

This is just classic 4 player fun, you know?

But IMO you will start seeing less of this as consoles go online.  Maybe I am wrong.... but 4 player games seem to be disappearing *somewhat*
Maybe I am wrong on that.

This is Nintendo pure at heart with SSBM

I'd like to take you on linnk lol

Super Smash Bros. Melee is, without a doubt, my favourite ever multi-player game. It mixes competitive gameplay with pure Nintendo fanaticism. I've never had so much fun with a fighting game, nor have I racked up so many hours wanting to master one.

Sadly, I haven't played it in multi-player since last year, and i've been slacking in single player to play other games. It's one of those games that i'll always come back to and start fresh, though, so it doesn't really matter. I only wish it was online, granted the speed wasn't ruined like Dead or Alive Ultimate for XBOX was.

BTW, anyone fancy a game? I'm at the point where i'd just fly around anywhere for to play people, because my friends suck and have no taste in games. :p

I used to be be good with both Links, Mario, and Samus. But it's been a long time since I played, and the last time I played I was best with adult Link.

I really love the game, though. It's a lot of fun with multiple people.

I used to play this game a lot, but I always played it for fun, and my friends played it to win. Eventually it just got to the point where they would have a good 10:3 kill/death ratio on me, so I quit. The worst part was that I could take on 3 level 9's at one time and win, but it would take me a couple stock to kill one of my friend's once.

I have one friend who used Yoshi back in the day, I honestly think he was unstoppable. I had one friend that could match him with Fox, but he rarely ever beat him.

@ Stealth... they were that good, eh?

They literally had no lives for about 6 months. Everyday after school when it came out they would go to each other's house and play Fox vs. Yoshi in 10 stock matches until supper time. Then if they had no homework they would do that again after supper. It was incredibly sad, but they managed to find an amazing amount of depth in a game I thought was pretty straight forward. They also managed to match their timing perfectly with the animations. It is literally insane to watch these guys play, :lol.
