Metal Gear Solid 3 ....annoying sniper battle with The End

Who here has played MGS3 to the point to where you have to have the huge sniper battle across like 3 areas with The End? Am I the only one that thought this was annoying as hell, and a tad hard? It took me three tries and about an hour to kill the old geezer myself.

Comments...questions...regarding The End. Just curious what others think/thought about this particular boss battle.

For me, it wasn't really all that hard, it was just a pain to track him down.. but I thought it was a nice change from some of the other parts of the game, but yeah.. it took too long.

I haven't bought a copy yet if you can believe it!

Do you think MGS3 is worth the money? I'm hearing it is drastically different from MGS 2.

I heard it's drastically different in a wonderful way.

Well I wouldn't say it's too different, it's the same basic concepts but the overall gameplay is different, but it's still great.

I'd say it's well worth the money though, I'm probably going to play through this quite a few times.

From what I was told, it had the good gameplay of the first MGS, while it had the story-telling that MGS 2 had.

Either way, I only have the first...

Agreed..not that hard..especially in retrospect..but a tad too long I thought. The second time I played through I got the drop really quickly on him and held him up, he actually dropped a very cool item..not gonna give away what though ..for those who have yet to play the game.

You don't even have to fight him if you're able to take him out at a dock before he's takin back, even shorter there.

Theres even an easier way as well...simply set your PS2 systems clock ahead 10 days..then you'll get a codec call telling you The End passed away.

I don't really care for either of those methods though...but its kinda neat to have them there.

Yep, I heard that too.

I also heard of the thing where if you save in themiddle of the battle and don't play for a couple days, when you load the game back up it shows him sneaking up behind you or something to take you out.

Well Im fighting The End right now, I've caught him sleeping a couple of times but after that he just smoked me like crazy! Btw, does he have any realtion with SniperWolf? You know the female sniper from the first one. Im just curious cause I was thinking about that when I was fighting him.

use thermal goggles and the directional microphone and it shouldnt be too hard. dont stay in one spot for more then 15 seconds. IF you stand in one place for like a minute, sometimes he shows up behind you and shoots you in the head.

Also there is a spot in te game where there is a movie with volgin, boss and the end. if you zoom in real quick you can see him a nd snipe him and his wheelchair will explode and you can skip it altogether

You can set land mines all around behind you and just sit there and wait..then when he tries sneaking up on you...BAM!

Not to my knowledge..it never mentions anything like that in the game.

Whoa! I didn't know that if you stand in one place that he comes to you. Well I beat him anyways, I used the thermal goggles to help me find his location and when I did he started running like a lil' sissy, using those annoying flash grenades to escape. It was pretty funny though because when he used the flash grenades and started running I was hot on his trail, felt like an episode of "Cops" for a moment, I just gunned him down to the last and final shot with the assault rifle and defeated him with the SVD to the head...what a finish.

man that was tight.. mgs3 is a must in any gamers library.. if u do not own it u are not classified as a gamer!!!! i beat it in like 3 days.. only got like 10 hours of sleep in that time period.. great game.. adds a new element to the gaming world
