Strubes, how stupid do you think we are? You took the highest rated Metal Gear ever, and knowing that Splinter Cell Double Agent would severely lower the total average of Splinter Cell games, and the Gamecube ones would have lower scores so you average the Splinter Cell's together. Here's a fair comparison according to Gamerankings.

Highest Rated Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory: 93.8%

Highest Rated Metal Gear Solid: Metal Gear Solid 2: 94.8%

Wow a whole big huge difference of 1 whole point between the two. ::)

If you're gonna use stats, at least show them for what they really are. I mean come on...

EDIT: Metal Gear Series (main games)= 93.1%

Splinter Cell Series (main games, excluding Double Agent)= 92.9%

They are really close...

Yes, I am so very stupid for not getting that we were talking about MGS 2. Gosh, I'll just list all the times it was mentioned:

The statistics you used weren't exactly accurate anyways. I just thought I would compare them fairly. ;)

Well if naked guys are your thing Homi....I respect that.

I don't know if you know how to do math correctly as well, so here's a lesson:

Take all the Metal Gear Games ever made, add up the scores, and divide them by how many there are.

Total, coming out to be 85%.

Take al the Splinter Cell Games ever made, add up the scores, and divide them by how many there are.

Total, coming out to be 81%

A minimal 4% between the two series, but with all the people casting votes, and all the magazine scores and website scores, that 4% is huge. 8)

I took the main games in each series. Maybe you should read my post fully before responding.

This means, no Metal Gear Acid, no PSP Metal Gear, no Splinter Cell essentials crap. Just MGS 1, MGS 2, and MGS 3 vs. Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos theory. Now, forgetting about all the extra crap and spin offs, Metal Gear Solid has an average of 93.1% and Splinter Cell, 92.9%. I'm just saying, reviewers and critics don't give Metal Gear Solid the huge advantage you make it out to be.

The main games. So you didn't take Double Agent? Cause it wasn't high enough for you? hmm. Anyways, I'm looking at the franchises as a whole, not just the 3 console games you choose for Metal Gear and the 2 you choose for Splinter Cell.

Okay fine. It didn't feel quite like a full blown new game to me so I didn't include it. With the Xbox Double Agent averaged in, 91.8. Roughly a difference of one point...

@Strubes: My point was that picture was the only time MGS 2 was ever specifically mentioned in this thread so there really is no reason to compare MGS 2 to the entire Splinter Cell series. I mean, its pretty obvious you just basically manipulated the statistics so they would be shown in a way that made MGS look best and Splinter Cell look worst...

but it wasnt lackluster whatsoever, it just wasnt, top notch graphics, and it had a few non stealth levels, but they were fun and interesting

I can't put my finger on exactly what it was, but there was something that made me (and a lot of critics) feel that Double Agent didn't live up to Chaos Theory. I think Conviction will fix that because it looks like it will surpass it. 8)

actually, all the reviews i saw said it was great

and conviction........i havent made up my mind on that game yet

Hmm...It was the lowest rated main Splinter Cell on Gamerankings .

Conviction looks like a modern day Assassin's Creed (without the sword fighting and PoP acrobatics), and its one of my most anticipated games of next year.
