MGS definitely... But, to be fair, I haven't really played much of the Splinter Cell series.
It would have pretty amazing sales, but still be beat out by some games, like Halo, GTA, and Brawl?Boom$ickle said:And you all know what that means, right?![]()
I voted for MGS also man but you should give SC a chance, I own all their games as well and they are really fun. (I even own the Splinter Cell paper back book, a good read I must say) LOLFisherBen117 said:MGS for shure! I really havent played the SC games. I like the plot in MGS alot , but im not shure. Ill go with MGS.

While it was the best for uses of lighting and sound when it came out MGS took that and built upon it. MGS uses Camouflage, Sound, and the likes now. The gameplay for MGS has also be revamped with every release of the game. MGS has become the game for both gameplay for the stealth genre and the story experience that games should ascertain. Personally I love both series (except Splinter Cell: Double Agent) and if we were comparing the first games of each series then Splinter Cell would have the gameplay and MGS would have the story (and characters) but, we are comparing the whole series. I'm not trying to start an argument I was just stating some key facts for both series.
Well it does use the sound on MGS alot but the main thing with MGS vs. SC is that the AI of your enemies is a lot better. SC is kind of easy to predict your enemies actions and you usually only have 1 way to get through a mission where as MGS you usually have a couple ways to get through every where. Also you have more player decided actions in MGS that effect the story line where as in SC you don't.Fr0dus Maximus said:And MGS also uses sound in the same sense. Except you don't have the sound level meter on the hud.

Fr0dus Maximus said:Hines have you played MGS4? You would be thinking differently. I agree with the Splinter Cell comment you made but, all you need to do is hide in the shadow crouched right in front of the AI without even taking cover and they don't seem to see you at all. Hopefully Conviction fixes that...
Well I own and have beaten every single SC game and MGS is just a better overall series and even if Conviction is a very good game it won't out sell MGS4 by a long shot which that alone will show which series is the best. Sells do act as part of that you know. I know that you can go through SC in multiple routes but they are still the same path usually just you can choose to interact with something in the environment to get around a obstacle where as MGS has just so many different ways to do something or to use something. I do like the tactical assault rifle on SC though with all the gadgets on it. I think it is best to look at MGS and SC like this, SC focuses on sound where as MGS focuses on the AI's vision ability.Hinesmdc said:I'm not trying to cause trouble or anything, but you honestly couldn't be more wrong. Splinter Cell prides itself on having multiple ways to do things, and how it lets you be creative in eliminating the AI. In MGS, you can run in and shoot a rocket, and they will forget you were ever there if you hide under a truck.

I am going to be in line to pick up Conviction though for sure man. Going to be a great game.
