Neo Geo CD metal slug 2

well i was browsing a game store i frequently visit, and they sometimes have neo cd games. ive come to expect whatever they have to be freakishly overpriced, and not worthwhile but last time i was there i saw metal slug 2 and it was $50. i jumped at it becouse i knew ive only seen it for $80+

so ive been playing it and it is waay better than the metal slug x port on playstation. what do you all think of it.

That is a sweet deal on a sweet game.

The game is great on CD. Love the heavy metal soundtrack. Just listen to the guitar riffs

Wow nice deal man, is it US or JPN?

And it is alot better than the MSX ps1 port...WAAAY better lol

I too snagged a great Metal Slug deal recently on Ebay(Metal Slug 1, JP, 50 bucks, and the guy lived about half an hour from my work, so I was able to pick it up and save on shipping)

Does anyone know how the combat school or whatever it's called works? Since the menu descriptions are in Japanese, I couldn't tell what was what, but as far as I could tell, you can create a profile (which I assume gets saved into memory) and play time trials and what not? Anyone have more insight on this? I got the game last night, and played it for the first time this morning.

This was the second part of the "Holy Trinity" of NGCD games I wanted to get (Pulstar was the first, and Twinkle Star Spirits will be the third)

The CD version of MS1 includes an art gallery and a time attack mode where you can replay stages you've already beaten and try to get the fastest time.

Well, finding the US versions of MS is very hard indeed. They usually fetch the top of the top dollar CD's. Except for Iron Clad.

I ALWAYS scour Ebay, because I've gotten some great deals from there (Pulstar JP for $40 and Metal Slug 1 JP for $50 being chief among them) The Metal Slug I got was in mint condition, for Pulstar, the disc was in good shape, but there were some scuffs on the case (though for the price I got it for, I really wasn't complaining) Seriously, I look at what Ebay has to offer for Neo Geo Stuff like 2 or 3 times a day. I'm currently looking for a deal on Breakers and possibly Metal Slug 2. The same guy I bought Pulstar from also listed his other 3 rare Neo Geo games (MS 1 and MS 2 both US and Twinkle Star Sprites) and I think they all went for less than 50 bucks. Sometimes I scour the neo-geo.com boards as well, although not many people sell CD stuff on there, I did find a link to a guy's store who had a brand new Twinkle Star for $62, although he was from Hong Kong, so I had to pay a fair sum for shipping

I'm like obsessed with this stuff, and I won't stop until I get every game I want :)
