Does this harbor hope for a 360 MGS4!? :o

If you want to play it on 12 discs (which is how much it would take). And since in MGS4, Hideo makes jokes about the 360, I'm guessing not.

I'm betting it comes to the PSN for sure.

it already is in PSN japan...but i don't know when it comes to US.

Given that Konami is an independent developer, I'd say that this is entirely possible.

Firstly, it would be 5 to 6 discs (about 50 GB's divided by 9 doesn't equal 12), assuming they were stupid enough to leave every file in the game as is, rather than compressing them. Secondly, if they compressed the files, it could probably fit on to three to four discs. Several 360 games have been on that many discs.

A watered down game on 4 discs? Plus the shot at Microsoft? Doesn't seem likely.

Compressing =/= taking out files. Compressing is basically reorganizing it to be more efficient, and take up less space. It would pretty much be the exact same game and maybe a couple extras that always come with ports. That's how Oblivion managed to fit on 9 GB's (or do DVD's hold 8?) of space.

Guess we'll never know.

What compressing is or what the port will be like because we already know the first one, and we could know the second one in the near future.

Are we talking about MGS4? Because I don't think it's coming to the 360. It sold more than what Hideo wanted on the first day. And couple that with the fact that he took a stab at Microsoft in the game...I just don't see it happening.

nobody saw bioshock coming to the ps3 either, nor RE4 to many other consoles, nor a dragon quest on a nintendo console as an exclusive (after the SNES ones) so everything is possible, i wouldn't rule out MGS4 for 360 yet.

Anything sure is possible, I just wouldn't expect it.

None of those things make it impossible, and as Zi said, there have been plenty of unexpected ports this generation. Bioshock, for the PS3 was completely denied outright, as a possibility for the PS3 and now it's on its way there. I'm not saying MGS 4 will come to the 360. I'm just saying that there is a chance of it happening, and nothing that makes it impossible to port it.

Also, when did he take a stab at Microsoft? You are the first (and only to this point) person I have heard that from, and I'm wondering exactly when that happened?

There's a scene in the game where Otacon cracks a joke. He doesn't mention 360 by name though. It's quite obvious though.

There's no spoilers in the link.

LMAO XD. but i think it doesn't necesseraly attack the 360 or microsoft... i think they mean that now they don't have the hassle of 2 CDs like the original MGS wich had 2 CDs (notice what otacon says about the age we are in), and anyway this can be easily edited.

But also notice how he specifically points out it's a SONY Playstation 3. It's all the rage at gametrailers right now. :lol

but he never ever mentioned microsoft not even for a second, i think they made that little funny skit directed at metal gear solid one that had 2 CDs and the ps1 itself or at any other console because the ps3 is the only with blu-ray.
