MGS4 on Xbox 360, 12-14 months late

We know we don't need to tell you guys this, but Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to the Xbox 360 is still a rumor despite gaming site Xbox Family saying, rather unequivocally, "Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the Xbox 360. This is not a rumor." Well, duh ... it's a rumorang.

With that caveat out of the way (and stowed safely in a locker somewhere), we'll proceed to relay the rumorang your way: An unnamed Konami rep apparently dropped some knowledge on Xbox Family, whispering that MGS4 would sneak onto the Xbox 360 12 to 14 months after the PS3 version is released (whenever that is). The site also published a lengthy email from Microsoft's John Porcaro basically saying "no comment" which they also suspect may be further proof of the rumor. (Why did he write so much? He's very polite, you know.)

With Konami execs straight up saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 may go to other consoles, and MGS4 producer Ryan Payton saying the game needs to sell a million copies on day one to make the pricey production profitable, it's not like Konami's showing their best poker face either. But that doesn't mean it's not still a rumor which, of course, we don't need to tell you guys.

So it IS coming, and despite what you PS3 lovers try to say about this article, its right there, black and white, a Konami exec said that it IS coming, just later than the PS3 version.

joystiq said that, which means that its not official yet. if a konami rep says its true, i have no problem believing it

EDIT - i love how all of the PS3 owners have avoided this thread like the plague :D
 
i never even wanted this game to beging with :lol and i own a ps3, but yeah hines lovers will avoid this thread

How so? It isn't official yet, and MGS 4 will be exclusively on the PS3, for over a year, even if it is true.

Also, don't you find it kind of sad that you're celebrating, jubilantly, that a game you don't even like may be coming to the 360, just because it's making the PS3 look worse.

is still a rumor though but it does make an little impact on the ps3's exclusive library

its like resident evil 4 for gamecube. on gamecube for about a year, and then on PS2.

Well, Strubes is the only one who would notice this post anyway. Mega and BV (who have PS3s) don't hang out in the 360 section that much. But Strubes is probably at work or something, and that's why he hasn't posted...I doubt he would let a post like this go by without saying anything.

Which is why I am just letting you all know, if you guys start to argue like you always do, then yes I will lock the thread, because it's bordering on flame bait.

And what was the better version? The gamecube version. I just didnt post in the thread because I already knew that this was gunna happen like 6 months ago. And you know what I don't care what MGS4 is coming out on. PS3 also gets Metal Gear Online next year as well. Plus look at it from a development standpoint. Release on the PS3 first, work on the 360 version so it can fit on its DVD 9 format, then release on 360 a YEAR later. Oh I guess we also have to get the DLC from PSN for MGS4 also.

Well said. MGS has always played better on a Sony console. Just my 3 cents :-X

it was only better because of the better controller (which arguably is the 360's) and because of the better graphics, which the PS2 couldnt handle. the ps3 and 360 are about equal in power. sure, the ps3 is more powerful on paper, but i have yet to see a ps3 game look better than gears of war graphically. not even killzone.
 
Have u played with the Dualshock 3 controller? No. And the people that have say that its truly perfect for MGS4 and other PS3 titles. You can feel the direction that bombs are being dropped and where you're getting shot from. And the controller feels perfect in your hand. PS3 and 360 = in power? i dont think so. Gears didnt impress me graphically.

But don't forget MGS2 on PS2 vs Xbox. Xbox obviously had more graphical power yet MGS2 played like shi...crap, on the Xbox. Same with Silent Hill 2. Ports are usually inferior as far as I am concerned, but that is just my opinion.
