MGS4 Too Big for Blu-Ray Disc

I really hope it doesn't come out on the 360. I am already disgruntled enough that Devil May Cry 4 is on the 360. Devil may Cry is a Playstation franchise, should be a playstation franchise, darnit.

What's so bad about getting more fans?

Hey, the PS3 got the better version anyway. Port < Originally developed for.

Glad you said it and I didn't.

*looks at entire Splinter Cell series, Oblivion, Rainbow Six Vegas, Dead Rising etc...*

Oblivion works fine on the PS3. Just not on the 360. While I agree on the others it really doesn't effect me.

And pretty soon most of the 360 games will be ports of PS3 titles.

I'd like you to name one.

why should I name games? It's been documented countless times that it is easier to port from PS3 to 360. Having given that blatant obvious discovery let's go on to see how it would be better to develop games for the PS3 first shall we? First off, you won't have the problems that have taken place on the ported games already. Secondly, the development cycle will most likely take less than that of say the development cycle of developing on the 360 then porting to PS3. Thirdly, name one game that has been developed on the 360 that was ported above sub-par results and I can give you others that have been developed on the PS3 than ported to 360 and did great.

So.....you have no examples and are making this all up. :lol

Orly now? Can you give me titles of games that are being ported from 360 to PS3? Do you know which games that are coming out on the PS3/360 and which are port or not? Most likely, no. Why? You don't see that much news of that lately. Instead of gaming news, we get cake news and other news that doesn't really affect us all that much. How bout the fact that EA has already begun to start using the PS3 on their titles? Case in point Burnout Paradise, which was developed on the PS3 then ported. Did we see any problems with the 360 version? No. Once EA begins to lead develop on the PS3 that will start a ripple effect. I fail to see how you seem to think that the 360 will stay the Lead Development console for long. PS3 to 360 makes it easier for developers to port without any complications. While 360 to PS3 you see many complications. If you think developers will keep on going with that format you are just ignorant to think that.

Is everyone done throwing a tantrum? Can we get back to talking about proper formatting for lengthy games and proper compression code? Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd say...

But seriously, topic gets back on track now or its canned.

Think about it... if Metal gear Solid 4 used up 5 dual Layer DVDs ... my gues is that it may be more expensive than the PS3 version. Please correct me if im wrong but it'll have to be the most expensive 360 game on the shelves. also...think about how much finance is used up when konami invests in DL DVDs for the game. Lets just say... ALOT ! The Data Writing, the Label Printing, thats alot of money being invested into the "MGS4 (360) port ". I doubt Konami will port MGS4:GOP onto the 360... but if they make a demo on it and run some tests nd think its worth it... then 360 gamers ur in luck...

DVDs are pretty cheap, so I doubt the price would raise at all. I mean, they probably would raise it as an excuse to make money, but ti doesn't have to to make a profit.

Very true. And it would be time consuming as well.

If they compressed data, I'm sure they could easily get it down to two or three discs. Also, keep in mind that Blue Dragon took up 4 discs and retailed for $60 on the 360.

Actually, no it wouldn't be that expensive. It might possibly go up maybe $10, but that's as far as it would go. Industries that print on any kind of media get bulk discounts. This includes DVD's, CD's and even blu-ray discs.
