Microsoft Vs. STEAM (Steam's new rival)

Re: Microsot Vs. STEAM (Steam's new rival)

Pah.

The only way this MIGHT succed for MS is if they start throwing around big bags of money to developers and publishers for exclusitivity.

STEAM is too well known, and comforted, for people to be breaking away from it.

Unfortunately, that's EXACTLY what M$ is good at. :lol

Hrmm... A well-established stable digital service or a money juggernaut with a more unstable client. This should be interesting.

HAH! It'll be a cold day in hell when I choose Windows Live over Steam.

It doesn't matter what Steam rip-off they make. Steam already has 15 million subscribers, and given just how big of a number that is, it would take a lot of money to get developers to release content exclusively through Windows Live. Microsoft's pockets just aren't deep enough.

Honestly, a little competition never hurt anyone. I say let MS fail on their own, and if they do succeed in making a better product then the consumers end up winning anyways.

I don't think competition is bad, and I don't think they will fail if their goal is to offer another solid service like Steam. But if their goal is to eliminate Steam, they will fail.
