Mii ... Wii ... and questions

ok... have any of you visited anyone else's wii? Are any of you registered with other wii owners to send mail to them and all?

How exactly does this mii visiting stuff work? I know there is a setting that allows mii's to go to other mii's wii console (tongue twister city!) and visit while you are not playing your wii. has anyone done that?

POst it up...

I haven't done it, but if you leave your Wii online with WiiConnect24 then anybody can visit your Mii, even if your system isn't even on. Or you can store it in your WiiMote and take it to a friends house and they can download your Mii.

never tried storing it in the wiimote... Is that just a d/l option? I didn't think there was memory in the wiimote... weird.

I had my wii on with the wiiconnect 24. BUT... I thought your system had to be on and online to use the wiiconnect24... or am I wrong? IF your system isn't on... how do other mii's visit? And how do you visit other wii systems? Do you have to have the people in your friend registry?

I believe you do have to have your friends code in order to visit. They can visit you anytime if you have WiiConnect24 on and your system has access to the internet. Your system is always in a "sleep" mode, it's never really off. Which is how WiiConnect24 works. I don't remember how to save your Mii to your WiiMote, but if Im not mistaken then it does it automatically. If not then you can check the Mii channel and it should let you do it there.

I'll find out for sure when I pick one up this Sunday. I'll try it with Griff. Are these downloads and everything free?

Awesome...so what exactly are the...Mii's?

It's like a little avatar you make to represent yourself in Wii Sports, among other things. A cutesy, Animal Crossing style thing.

Oh, I think I've heard of that. That's pretty neat. So what would be the point of going to another person's Mii? Just to see it? Or is there like a town, like Animal Crossing?

P.S. Sorry bout all the questions, but I'm just excited to get a Wii!

BV I talk to two other users at least twice a day, its awsome. Strubes and I are going sunday to try to get one for him and one for my little brother! Gatta have 2 in a house. :D

so you do have to exchange friends codes to do this?

ALSO... if the yellow light is on - on the Wii, then it is in sleep mode.
The green light is on (of course)
But then there is the red light (when it's 1st plugged in...etc) and that is off... I believe.

So technically... if you have your wii in the wrong electrical socket (ouch!!) and someone flicks the light switch and turns the wii off... the red light is on until you turn your wii back on... and turn it off with the controller (yellow light). But in sleep mode (yellow light)... How does it stay connected? The system pretty much shuts down in sleep mode (kind of like a Laptop sleep mode).

At least that's how I understand it.

Sweet, so you're coming for sure? :D

Awesome...if you're staying the night Saturday, then bring your Wii. If not, then I can come stay the night at your place. We're gonna have to wake up at 7 a.m.

But Laptops can have a system preference where it can still speak to the internet even in sleep mode. In case you need to access it from an outside source. Im guessing that's how it works with the Wii also.
