At tonight's E3 2008 Nintendo Developer Roundtable, Shigeru Miyamoto quickly and casually confirmed that a new Pikmin title is under development. His words? "We're making Pikmin." The long version of that answer, when asked if the team was planning on revisiting that particular franchise was far more verbose.
"We continue investigating all types of games," Miyamoto responded. "When it's time to announce such a title, I'll announce it." Then he did. "We're making Pikmin."
Again, that's "We're making Pikmin."

it's the one with captain olimar ad the 5 little dudes(yellow pikmin, blue pikmin, red pikmin, purple pikmin, white pikmin) each pikmin has an element and/or ability, combine the use of these pikmins to destroy massive bosses and obtain treasures. (though i bet they are going to introduce even more pikmins)

Pikmin is definitely not what is hot right now.
It better have ONLINE play and also feature more french lyrics in the soundtrack. Also, add more colors, more environments, more players, and a more linear storyline that can extend for 80 hours, as well as the ability to take photos and share them, and record videos, and build stuff, and also simply put even add in additional planets.

Ai No Uta in French sucked horribly. Online play isn't that important for Pikmin. More colors? That's probably the stupidest thing to suggest. More environments? What was wrong with the first two's? More players? No. And a more restricted storyline that lasts for 80 hours. I'd just love less freedom and more story, because that's what I look for in a Pikmin game. Take photos? Of what? hai guise luk at this standerd gamplay. Record videos? See the last one. Build stuff? I'm assuming you mean a stage creator, which would be the epitome of pointless. he said mario and zelda, nintendo didn't mention fire emblem DS (great franchise) and is being released in august in japan, they also didn't mention fatal frame 4 and is being relesed the 31st of this month in japan..... so i guess nintendo was aiming at casuals at E3 and they are just giving excuses, but i don't care as long as i get my games

Regardless, Pikmin is most likely coming next year as Nintendo President seemed to indicate that they dont want to tease gamers with announcements of games 18 and 24 months in advance. The DS was pretty much only brought up in terms of Pokemon Ranger and GTA, much bigger announcements than Fire Emblem DS, and Fatal Frame 4, would probably not meet much sales attention here that greatly.
