This guy who reviewed MAX PAYNE the movie, obviously never played the real Max Payne video game...

Meh, just another writer talking out of his butt about something he clearly has no experience with. Oh, and Hideo Kojima has said video games are not art, you callin' him a dork? j/k man ;)

Exactly. I wouldn't call Max Payne specifically art, but it doesn't represent the medium as a whole. Besides, who says a game needs to make someone cry to be art? I'd like to see this "reviewer" locked inside a room with the team of conceptual artists that laid the groundwork for the world of Max Payne. What exactly were they being paid for if not their artistic ability?

It's natural to have emotional feelings when it comes to something that touches your heart.Just like movies,some video games have very emotional scenes.I cried like a baby when I first saw "E.T.",granted I was a young child,but I also wept a little when I first saw "The Elephant Man".Gamers want their games to be as realistic as possible,ask and ye shall receive.

It takes just as much courage to cry as it does not to.

Oy.  This guy needs to stop making stupid blanket statements.  I'll admit that there are countless games with god-awful stories, but that doesn't give this guy the right to generalize.  No artistic medium is inherently superior to any other and to say otherwise is just plain stupid.  You must take it on a case by case basis.  If you try to do otherwise, you will always be wrong.

*Applauds* :) Seriously, though, these "e-know it alls" really get under my skin sometimes. They act like their opinion is fact and they hold such a holier than thou attitude. At the end of the day, though, nobody knows, or cares, who these guys are anyways.
 
this guy needs to play AIR (if he can understand japanese but trust me if you don't cry after playing/watching this story, then you are not a human being) or The world ends with you ASAP (just mentioning some that were not mentioned)
