The free month of Live makes up for the month you can't access it.

No offense dude, but I don't believe that for a second.... :-\
It's not hard for Sony or any company to do express mail.

sony is in japan, and it takes roughly 50 hours to fly around the earth, its literally impossible to do it in one day

I don't know. Those post office workers can run and swim pretty fast.

Sony of America needs to work on their naming.

And yes, it does take 50+ hours...the long way.

They have factories in America, and I'd bet they have a place to repair them in America too.

One way, by plane, it's a lot shorter than that.

ok, do you all actually believe it takes 1 day to ship ur ps3 out, have it repaired, and get it back?

I think he meant it gets there the next day, comes back the day after.

Nope. I have honestly no clue how long it takes. I'm just saying, it's possible for them to overnight it, repair it, and overnight it back in a few days.

Exactly. My two friends who's PS3's (which were launch ones) broke, got the box the next day, sent it out, and got it back 2 days later. A few weeks opposed to a few days is a huge difference.

Well to be fair, it all depends on a few things:

1. What broke and how easy it is for the manufacturer to fix it.
2. How far away you are from the facility that fixes your console.
3. How many consoles there are to fix.

I'm sure the PS3 doesn't have the same hardware issues as a 360 so they're easier to fix. Plus the volume of 360's that are sent in to repair also keep your system from coming back sooner. What I'm trying to say is, if the xbox didn't break as often I'm sure you would get your console a lot faster. Possibly as quick as a PS3.

The 360 seems to be slow shipping no matter where you are in the U.S, but granted the amount of defective 360's is staggering. Still though, the hardware problems for which the 360 and PS3's have been sent in for, are more or less for the system overheating and crashing. The PS3's failure rate isn't nearly as bad as the 360's though. Then again, this is all left to "what if". If the 360's didn't break as often, would Microsoft really make it top priority to overnight everything? We may never know.
