My DS = broked :(

Great...

Well, last week or so, I pulled out my DS from its case in intentions of playing Robopon. I flipped open the screen, and notice half of if come off the hinge! I look into my case and notice a piece of the hinge, lying at the bottom.

So now, the DS hangs by one small hinge on the left side... I can still play, but VERY cautiously. It leans to the left often. It doesn't affect the gameplay, but if it breaks off I know it will :P

I so don't want my DS to go poof completely. Not with Kirby and Animal Crossing coming out so soon. :(

I'll try to get pics later; maybe I can get some advice as to how to superglue it or something O___o

Please pray I survive this horrible experience x_o

dude.... did someone step on the case or something?
Or get into the case without you knowing?

I would be ticked.

See if you have an authorized Nintendo repair center around

BV :hat

Actually, Nintendo has really great customer service. I've heard stories of them replacing systems well after warranty, and even when it was the customer's fault. They have a one year warranty, though, and the DS has been out less than a year, so you're still covered, and technically it is kind of a manufacturing defect. They might be willing to replace it free of charge, and supposedly they send them out right away and get to you in about a week.

Seriously, I would call their customer service hotline and see what they will do before you take it to be repaired anywhere.

I dropped mine... and split wax on it... it's fine though.

But it's missing a pixal and has sense I got it. I'm going to be trading it in soon.

That sucks though Kirby's...

The thing is, do I qualify for it?

I didn't register my DS, and I got mine from BV so I don't have a receipt or anything that proves I own it... x.x

if you still have the manual and stuff, there ought to be a little warranty card you can fill out and send in (i dont have a DS, just from experience in other systems)

Even though you got it used, or at least it sounds like you did, it should still be covered because like Mai said it hasnt been around for a year yet so they cant say "oh your warranty has expired". I least I dont think they can.

HOLY CRAP IT BROKE MORE TODAY x.x

Not the same thing though. Today I was playing Mario and I realized I couldnt center the camera behind me. Inspection of it (and trying the L button on different games) made me conclude that my L button is wasted.

I don't know how, it looks completely fine.

I keep it in a cushioned case, and only take it with me on long trips; otherwise I play on my desk.

What the heck is going on? Now I HAVE to send it in knowing Animal Crossing DS will use it :'(

Dude, no foul play. Why would I brag about my DS being broken?

Well because you took care of it and it still broke or was already a little broken. Just an assumption. I wasnt implying that you were bragging. But hopefully it gets fixed.
