My DS = broken

My DS Lite is broken. The top screen is messed up and won't display anything. It's mostly because I dropped it. A lot. D'oh! :shame

Anyway, I'm stuck on trying to decide which one to get now. Should I be crazy and try to get the gold one from Sears on the day after Thanksgiving or should I just get the black and red one?

Or are there any other special colors, maybe? Like is Best Buy doing a surf blue one like they had with the GBA SP?

I just really don't want a black or white DS.
 
The red and black one's really cool. I say check out the line at Sears and if it looks like it's worth it, wait in line. If not, get the red and black one. :)
 
The touch screen on mine is pretty badly scratched (I blame Pokemon Diamond). Not badly enough to effect it's performance, but I'll still probably buy a new one (I want a black one anyway).
 
I think a nicer term would have been "broken", but yeah, that sucks. You getting one of the new ones like the Triforce one?
 
No, the Crimson Yang has ghosting. Get a good old standard Lite.

What is ghosting?

@ Mega, no, it's past the warranty, and the damage is mostly user caused so I don't think they would do anything. Although technically it was a launch white DS Lite so it had that cracked hinge issue before I even dropped it once.

@kirby, I'd like to get the triforce one but I doubt it will be easy to get.

You know, it sorta leaves 'shadows' while things move. Actually, I've heard you can't notice it unless it's brought to your attention, in which case your eyes learn to look for it, so...you're welcome.
 
Ghosting is what happens to LCD's with low refresh rates. The LCD can not keep up with the frames per second, so you will see previous frames still on the screen.
 
The triforce one sounds super swesome..but otherwise..red and black sounds nifty too.

I knocked my DS off a shelf and onto the floor for the first time yesterday. It freaked me out! My precious DS Lite! I am sorry yours actually broke. That so stinks!!! :'(
 
Well I found out that Wal-Mart is going to have the gold Triforce DS Lite, too, so me and Joyling are going to camp out for Black Friday and get me one for Christmas.

I must be the only one on the planet who has an original fat chunky DS that is still in flawless condition. I hadn't even removed the film off the Nintendo logo until a few months ago...
 
Don't worry Dart. I wanted an Electric Blue DS, and they only came in the fat style, so I got one. :lol

Sadly, My DS fell out of my backpack one day, and the I lost the stylus. So i need a new one of those...
 
Yeah, I only play mine at home or when I am on a plane. And I always leave it in the case when not in use. I think I dropped it once while in the case. But no harm done.
 
I should get a case to prevent mine from snapping in half again, 'cause I don't think they'll cover it this time.

i have a pink DS, and my GBA SP is broken inside the screen so there is almost no way to fix it and i know how ya feel.so my suggestion is to get the ying yang ds (the red and black one). to me, its really kewl!!!!!!
