My first 360 game!

Quake IV baby!

My locl Sam Goody was having a going out of business sale, and everything was 20% off. So I got it brand new for $50 flat. There weren't really any other games worth picking up there, they only had FIFA, Condemned, Gun, and King Kong.

So, I have this beauty sitting in my room, just waiting for a 360 to play it in :'(

It looks good. I've heard it has frame rate issues, but on the whole I think it, plus Quake 2, will be worth it.
 
Ugh that's gotta be tough seeing the game sitting there but not being able to play it! Looks like a sweet game so yea, let us know how it is.
 
I have heard mixed reviews on this game. Some say it is great and some say it is the worst 360 release. Hopefully it is not the latter for you. I do not have this game, but I love Condemned and Call of Duty 2 for the 360.
 
It's a cool game, but I wished they gave you cool strog powers or something, you just jump like an idiot
 
Personally, I think quake 4 isn't a really good game. Personally I don't like ID software.thier games aren't that good (except for the old doom games). It doesn't show off the 360s power at all. The graphics aren't good at all and personally I think the gameplay gets repetitive. But, thats just my opinion. ::D
 
they should have spent more time making Quake 4 to make it a good solid title for the 360
 
When are you expecting you get a 360 Spartan?

I hope ya like Quake, fill us in when ya get to play it.

That's the thing though. It wasn't made for the 360. It was made for the PC. As a matter of fact I have it, and I only get framerate issues in very large rooms. True, it could have been optimized better, as I'm willing to bet it doesn't use all 3 processors (PC version came with a pacth that allows it to work with two processors).

Probably one of the few times Microsoft got a mildly boiled down game for their system.
 
The Quake 4 Demo is pretty good, but I will wait for the price to drop on the game before buying it. Too many good games coming out for the 360 soon and this one just is not worth my $60.00.
