My MUstang was totalled today......

I have a 95 Mustang GT... and I love the car.  I have had it 10 years....  It has been a great car and it still looked pretty darn good!

well.... I got in a car accident today.... and it is totalled :(
what happened?  well... basically I hit an SUV (Pacifica) head on..... yup... full frontal crash.  I was driving in our neighborhood... going 15-17 Mph.... and I hit a patch of ice (the whole road is basically ice right now).... and I went sliding into the other lane.... there was nothing at all I could do.... and I hit them head on.   I tried swerving and about everything else... but the ice had me on a straight path... and my car wouldn't move.  I've driven my Mustang GT for 10 years in snow and what not... and I've always been able to control it.... never have I been out of control until today.

I went to the hospital (Ididn't think I needed to... but my parents wanted me to have me arm checked out).... my arm is fine, its basically a decent air bag burn (even through my coat.. yes, my coat was on :lol )  Anyway.... my arm was right near the airbag before it went off because I was trying to steer out of the way.... that hurt like a mother....   
It was pretty scary.

Now, I am carless..... I have to figure out what to do.... so everyone that has orders in to me... they will be delayed for a few :(  I do apologize for that.
I got 12+ shipments out today.... SO if you ordered before today, your items are out... except 1 persons.

Update: The estimated damage SO FAR without even going into the engine and checking that out (they couldn't open the hood at the estimate time)..... OVER $9000...... yes, 10 seconds, 15 MPH, and the damage is worth $9,000. I guess I should be more thankful I didn't get hurt.

Hey, at least you're alright. It sounds like that car was really important to you (95 Mustang GT, hell, its important to me) but the main thing is that you survived without a scratch, except for some airbag burn. Head on collision like that could have been a lot worse...

That sucks, glad you're ok. One of the reason why I love living in southern california is because I dont have to deal with that kind of weather related stuff. Well since you're ok I guess I can say this....

yeah man... to make matters worse... it is the last year of the 5.0...

it does suck though :( and I am glad no one got hurt.,.. it just flat out sucks....
it wasn't fun hitting the SUV either :lol
 
Eh... that sucks.. I was actually thinking that your stang was still in good shape after I stopped by the other day...

Is your insurance coverage good for a rental car 'til you get permanent driving arrangements set up?

no... actually... I was planning on getting a new car and parking the stang during the winter times.... and doing work on it, getting the horsepower pretty high and all.... and some other things :(
The car was pretty special to me... a lot of memories in it. It was running perfectly. It has been paid off for YEARS :lol That was the best part.

Damn that sucks, but it's good your OK. My car (that was also paid off since it was given to my by my mom before she moved to NY) was also totalled once and it's a crappy situation to be in.

Don't worry about the package, totally understandable given the situation. I'll just keep hunting for PSP bargains while I wait :)

Dont listen to this guy BV. He doesnt know what he's talking about. :p If you're going to go import then get a Toyota or a Mitsubishi. :)
