My Wii is dead...

I went out to my gaming room to play some Radiant Dawn, but the Console wouldnt read the disk. So after about 5 trys, I put another game in, then another, etc.. I eventually noticed the reason none of the games were working was because the Motor that spins the disks stopped working, because of this, I'm basically without a Wii now, at least until i can get it sent in and fixed, or I buy a new Wii all together. Soo.....yeah, I'm a sad panda :'(

shoot >_< man that totally sucks.....oh well we'll brawl without you for some time =P

Man... that sucks!

How much will it cost to get it fixed? How long have you had it?

If it's still under warranty, Nintendo is awesome about repairing/replacing the system. The only bummer is that you'll lose your Virtual Console games if they have to replace it, so hopefully it's something they can fix. I'd make sure you have your save files backed up on an SD card just in case.

lucky for him he has no VC and i was going to gift him a game soon xD

Send the damn thing back just on principle!
If I'm not mistaken, your profile says your 17?Are you still in High School.

Surely,Nintendo knows the average age of the people who purchase their products. If your still in High School, and you tell Nintendo that, the warranty will be the furthest thing from their mind.
Yes,it costs a little to ship it to them and you might have to wait a little longer, but it beats the hell out of paying some dude $40 to just open it and fix it in 20 minutes. On top of that,if it breaks down on you again, then you definitely can't return it to Nintendo, and the icing on the cake is,you will have to fork out more to get it fixed again. These consoles are very expensive.$250 is a lot for most families to pay, especially these days.

Peace,
Kaz

What does age have to do with Nintendo's warranty? :?

I don't think Nintendo cares about that. Out of all the companies, Nintendo is the most lenient, actually. I've heard they'll even honor the warranty past one year sometimes.

Seriously, have you ever owned a Nintendo product and had to call Nintendo about it?

My launch Wii died and they replaced it free of charge because it was under warranty. Not only that, but they made it so that I was able to redownload my Virtual Console games, which normally you would not be able to do.

I don't think Blade will have any problem with Nintendo.

They might be more inclined to help him sans warranty because his age is a strong age group for purchasing video games. If I knew that the person was in high school,I wouldn't care about the warranty.(unless it's been cracked open and repaired outside their factory.)Would you want customers like him with ten million other students spreading the word about this problem?Word travels fast in schools.

Nintendo has the greatest customer services since they hang on to the glory at my right hand! Here laid to rest is our love ever longed! with truth on the shores of compassion! You seem to take premise to all these sonnnngs :D Nintendo stormed off to scar the armada, like Jesus played letter! :rockin

I disgress my "song stuck in my head" theory.

Nintendo will treat you like a prince or princess when it comes to getting your system repaired and safely returned.

I'm hoping to send it in sometime soon, and I do have All my files backed onto my SD card, so that isnt a problem either. I've had the system for about 2.5 years, so i dont think it'll still be under warranty, but I'm still hoping to send it in regardless (Just have to get through to my oblivious parents). Anyways, thanks for your time guys, I appreciate it ^.^

not it won't... but it never hurts to try.

Nintendo is pretty good about these issues.

Last night, my bro managed to get it working, he went to play mario kart, saw the thing wasnt working, so he went into the mario kart channel, the wii asked him to insert the disk, he does so, and the thing just starts working again. Its really weird, but now my wii is working perfectly fine.....for how long is something i dont know however...
