According to a recent interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, Dean Takahashi of the Mercury News reports that Nintendo may be on the verge of revealing a new franchise, along the lines of how they launched Pikmin as a significant new game series for the company.

The telling quote: "Maybe next year sometime, we may have new characters in the same way we came up with Pikmin when we introduced the GameCube." It's not the most unlikely of revelations, but it's nice to hear he's been scribbling away on the old sketchpad.

New franchise? Could it be? Another Shigeru Miyamoto later to be classic? Just a thought. ;D

I cant wait to find out what it is. It could be this generation's classic just like mario and zelda was back then.......
 
Oh...i read about this in a nintendo power magazine. i wonder how much this game will attract to the public.
 
I hope its one of those two New games coming out for the Wii.

Disaster: Day of Crisis
or
Project HAMMER

Those two look really cool and it would get rid of "Nintendos kiddy" statements if they had games about natural distasters and terrorists or Apocalypic Robots.

The one awesome launch game I saw....ruined before my eyes in a couple of letters........watch it go over to the 360 now....
 
The Wii could use some hopefully hardcore original games, too. Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was canceled? No! That looked awesome!

personally, i sure wouldnt mind seeing some more of pikmin.
 
what i really want more than a new franchise, is a kid icarus game on the wii or at least the DS
 
That just might happen, since Smash Bros. Trying to get him some attention again, then bring out a new DS game, like the original one, expect superior.
 
man i don't reall care wich console i would even play it on GBA but i want another kid icarus.

i guess i have to play the new adventure mode in SSBB and hope it gives the same feeling of kid icarus
