New Maps for Call of Duty 4

WHOA.. you have to pay for the maps... that users get for free with purchasing the GOTY version (for the same price)...?! that is not cool...

Although I could almost SWEAR that the PS3 version was going to have maps downloading directly soon WITHOUT a cost. I could "ALMOST" swear... so please don't take my word for it :)

People who bought it first have the practice advantage.

Is that a reason to withhold Call of Duty 4 maps from me.... since I bought the original?

I think they should give the extra maps for free to those that already own the game..

That's how they sucker you into money. For one thing, you're paying full price. Then, you have to pay to keep up with DLC. Business.

I agree.

CoD4 just came out at a bad time for me, since I was hooked on Halo 3 at the time. But people don't play Halo 3 as much anymore, so it might be a good time to jump into CoD4.

A lot of people jumped ship really fast, Halo got beat down bad.

Nah, it's just more successful than Halo 3. Yes, there's a difference to beating something down and just being more successful. These will probably be the first two games I get when I get my next 360 too. :)

I didn't mean just CoD4. Halo 3 got really outdone, really fast.

I played it online today for the first time for several hours. It's Call of Duty 2 with a new paint job. :lol
Did you ever bother to play 2 online? I seriously doubt it because multiplayer underwent a huge change from 2 to 4.

I spent quite some time with both online. And you must be joking me. They have some of the same match types yes. But, saying it's the same game with a new paint job is complete nonsense.

The fundamentals of both are the same exact thing. Same controls, same basic weapon types, everything. Keep in mind, I didn't say it was a bad thing. :lol

I can agree that the controls are very similar (there are some small differences such as the ability to throw grenades back), but the weapons were changed quite a bit to fit modern times. For example, the basic assault rifle is now fully automatic, as opposed to the bolt-action rifles of Call of Duty 2.

Beyond those two simple things though, multiplayer really has changed greatly. Several additional modes have been added, there is so much more customization, 4's multiplayer is class-based, you can create your own class, there are a hundred different things to customize in each class. I actually prefer CoD 2's single player to 4, but there is absolutely no comparison between the multiplayer modes.
