New Playstation 3 Ad? Can it Possibly be Real?

There's a saying that all advertising is good advertising. Perhaps this example will prove to be true. This Austrian ad for PS3 uses a nude man whose, uhm, yeah... has been replaced by a thumb. The imagery is clearly NSFW so we can't put it on our site, but you can check it out at Ads of the World (if you so choose).

Perhaps the image is so provocative that the tiny "PLAYSTATION 3" text at the bottom will be seared into our minds. We don't know exactly how this ad would be effective, but that's for the folks at TBWA\Wien to explain to SCEE.

If this is not some cruel joke being played on Sony, I can't believe this. I seem to recall a racist PSP advertisment in the past, as well. Man, what were they thinking?!

Now look, I'm not giving any links for a reason. This is merely a discussion on why Sony would do this. I've seen the advert; it's a man's thumb shopped to look like it's one of his private parts. Sony... what the heck...
 
I can picture a lady singing....a snow globe crashes.....a clown flipping pancakes....and then "SONY PLAYSTATION 3" logo appears.....

"Was that our Commercial Mr. CEO?" I....don't...know...O.o
 
Wow...I kind of want to see this commercial now, if only to gawk at the weirdness.
