New psp model called PSi.....fake?

why would there be 2 d pads?

thats simply not true, you misunderstood. and dont get cocky with me lol, its not true!

No cockyness here. I just stated what I saw. :P

Okay, let's go through this. If this was real, Sony once again wants Nintendo's success. The PS3 had tilt to 'compete'(fancy word for get owned by) the Wii controller. Now this 'real' PSi has a touch screen(akin DS) and a lowercase I in the name(Wii again). Honestly, I could see Sony doing this, but I know they aren't.

Yes, the DS has had better success. But as of March, the PSP's sales figures stand at about 7.5 million units to the DS' 10 million.

And also looking at this month's Game Informer, I see a PSP with a D pad setup, and no goofy analog stick. So yes, the PSP is getting a facelift with minor changes.

Hmmm...Are you sure those aren't North American sales figures? At the beginning of last year, the DS was at 10 million worldwide, and considering DS's have been selling like hotcakes covered in crack, I would think the DS would be past 15 million worldwide, at least.

Oh and I just got this months Game Informer (the June one right?) and I don't see any new PSP. Where is it?

It's nowhere, because it's fake.

Well, let me get my facts straight before I again defend my position.

On the left side of the PSP, does it not have what appears to be an analog stick instead of Sony's version of a D pad?? If so, then yes. The new PSPs have only a D pad. Because that's what is in next month's game Informer on page 32. Also, that is what is being shown on Sony's commercials that also say that the price has dropped.

If not, then I was mislead, being the last time I actually held a PSP was when I visited my brother-in-law. And that was a while ago.

no psp games would work withought the d-pad............................you just contradicted yourself.

and the price dropped, cause nobody wants a psp

The anolog nub is directly below the D-pad... it looks like a speaker if thats what yur getting it confused with... I had a psps at lauch and it HAD a d-pad since day 1. And am i the only one that thinks the nub isnt that bad?

No and no. No, I didn't contradict myself because I never onece spoke about games. But please, show me where this contradiction occured.

And I guess there are seven and a half million nobodies running around with PSPs... Strange.

Thanks Auron, for explaining this for me. I looked at it again and realized where I goofed. :D

7.5 million, not a lot in a few years. Wii has about that in a couple of months. It always had and will have the analog nub, because some games use both. They can't remove buttons on a system, it would mess everything up.

ok one, you said that they took the analog nub away. okay. hello. this would render most games useless.

and ok tehre 7.5 million out there, but sony wants more, they want people to buy psp instead of the ds

And this confusion has been cleared up. But I fail to see why you have to be a jerk about it. But whatever. ::)

Sony dropped the price to sell more PSPs. For one, because they can, and two, it will work. And I'm not buying the story about Sony wanting people to buy the PSP instead of teh DS, as the world has a large population that aren't fanboys, and would gladly buy both. The drop in price just makes it more attractive.

Everyone drops the price they second they can. Does no one remember that DS's used to be $150? The drop in price makes it more attractive? Sure. The lack of any good games kinda cancels it out, though.

The rumors may be coming from the patent Sony filed for a PSP/phone device. The patent is legit, but Sony is always making patents for things they never actually build.
