I am going to be combining everything with egameaddiction.com.... SO everything is going to be located there within 2 months.

ANYWAY.... I am going to add a help section that will give game cleaning tips...etc..

Do any of you have Video game related cleaning tips (that are tried and true... and are good practice tips)?

Or what are your suggestions for this section?
Do you think it will be helpful?

PLease post it up!

AND which of the following to you think sounds better:
help.egameaddiction.com
or
www.egameaddiction.com/help

I look forward to hearing your comments, etc :)

cool :) do you all think this sounds like a good section to have?

or do any of you have any "resources" for cleaning games..etc?

†B†V† :hat

not a bad suggestion there.... but I'd like to leave that up for the forums... maybe...

OR maybe integrate a help section with the forums .... and using some of the posts to give help on pages.... :)

The Game addict's section will be dedicated to reviews, codes, FAQ's...etc.

Wouldn't the gaming tips be part of the codes/FAQ's part?

Or are you talking about a board like GameFAQ's has where people can ask questions and have others answer them instead of searching through the already made FAQ's?

Yes :)

Basically I'll have pre-made..and boards as well.

BUT  the help sections will be for.... help with store ordering..... cleaning games, information for removing stickers.....  etc.  Trustme.. .it will be pretty informative.
I have something planned I cannot talk about right now because they are in the works :) Its nothing "big deal" its just a cool thing that my small business is able to do it.

Well I have a help tip.

For anyone who buys games at GameStop and for whatever reason you get a box that has the GS price label...well they are heat sensitive, so use a blow-dryer on the lowest hot setting and you can make the label peel off really easily.

yes! Tips like this are cool.

Now... I have heard this as well... and I can tell you for 100% sure it doesn't always work.... I have done this for 15 minutes straight and still been left with sticker residue.

I LOATH Gamestop, EB games, babbages, Gamecrazy...etc... for stickering and stamping their games....

BUT this has worked for different types of tape on games as well.

Good tip :)

If any of you have more, please add them... as I want to get a big list and keep them stored on our website.

I would also suggest something like this. On large boards like GFaq's Tales of Symphonia Board, if you ask a question, expect a page or two of random words or "go look at the FAQ's.

Heh, nearly all gamestores here label games. And you can't peel them off without having a horrible brown-ish mark on the cover afterwards. I'll try that out. :)

sorry Nova... I am not sure what you were referring to.

www.gamefaqs.com

Go look in the Tales of Symphonia board there for the GC. 90% of the questions asked in the board will either say:

"Look in the FAQ's, (insert random insult here)"

Or

"(insert strange answer, like god kills a kitten everytime the question is asked)"

:lol Thats true about those stickers, I hate them too. I worked at GS for about 3 years, I have seen the heatgun/blowdryer trick work, but definately can come out bad! You can melt the plastic, leave that brown mark: :af it sucks. Just think of it this way, its making mint copies more rare ;)

I seee.. .. we definitely don't want to get like that though.

As for Battle_Version.... GOOD to see you here :D Thanks for joining up..
Yeah.... I tried a blow dryer on tape on abox.. and it worked, but it left glue behind.

It makes me sick to see EB games throw away boxes...... and other places put stickers on their items.... it just feels wrong.

Crap.... I was buying a used unstickered game (except price sticker) from EBgames last year because it was RARE and I wanted it for myself. The IDIOTS (I mean this very much)..... as I was pulling out my wallet and getting my credit card out..... put this NASTY HUGE CIRCULAR sticker on the outside of the box before I could say anything or stop them. BAsically it overlapped the plastic where you would open the DVD style case.... and it went 1-2 inches on both front and back side of the case.

Oh man..... I was MAD. I can work price stickers off DVD cases pretty sell..... but those .... .. ... THEY RUINED THE CASE!!! >:(

Trust me, I was not a happy camper :lol

Any other tips or suggestions for the new section?

The cool thing about CD-based games, if they are only one disc, is that if there's a sticker or something on the case, you could probably switch it out with another jewel case. It doesn't take a lot of effort.

Thereotically you could also switch out DVD based games into another DVD case. It wouldn't be the original packaging but if it's close enough it would be hard to tell the difference.

actually... the DVD cases have the system name from which they originate.... IE Gamecube games have Gamecube embossed (or engraved) in the plastic of the DVD case.

I wish it was that simple....

NOW... Dreamcast / PSX games, it is easy to replace those cases.

Saturn / old long box PSX cases.... when those get stickered, I want to seriously smack whoever does that. That makes me mad.
On expensive titles... for a sticker you can lose $10-25... (sometimes even more) off the value. Not kidding either.
