July 18, 2005 - Blizzard's latest newsletter mailing, the Blizzard Insider, has requested input from recipients, gauging interest in the possibility of Diablo II on the Nintendo DS and PSP, as well as a version of Starcraft on the Nintendo DS.

I say BRING IT ON!!!
This would be awesome... especially with wireless play.

Anyone else pumped?

Edit: wrong link :)

I wonder how stategy games will be played on the DS. It could be really interesting with the touchscreen, IMO the DS has a lot of potential for strat and puzzle games.

EA was talking about a portable Command and Conquer game too. The DS has tons of potential for strategy games. Starcraft on the DS would rock, ecspecially if it supported online play.

Yeah it would. I cant wait to see what happens. It might be difficult to get used to the smaller screen in comparison to a pc, but other then that it seems like an awesome idea.

I think you'd be surprised that the translation could go well.  Of course, unit and scale would have to be smaller... but I am pumped!

I wish they would release a higher res PC version... IE one that would work at 1024 to 1280.. and that would make the battle field smaller so you could see more.

I think Diablo and Starcraft would be much more fun than Warcraft. But all three would definitley be sweet to play. Especially online!

you know how awesome Diablo 2 would be if they actually added MANY more items as well?

Hey... I have an idea.... lets find those polls.... post them up here... and get people to vote for them.
What do you all think?

in the DS article @ ign.. they talked about Blizzard taking polls somewhere *not sure where* to see if there is interest on these games for the DS.

I was figuring if we could find them and post them... we could get people voting for them.

At least that is what I gathered from the article... maybe I am wrong.

oh now I get what you mean...
That would be a good idea, I dont know where we will find the polls though :-\

Those games would own on the DS. I have a few theories on how it could work, here's two of them.

Touch Screen- Main Battle Map, select buildings by tapping them with the stylus, select units by tapping or by dargging a box around them.
Regular Screen- Would show minimap, resources, and build menu/ability menu. D-pad and standard buttons would control up here.

Problems with this? Not able to use the radar efficiently is the biggest problem.
Good things about this? Selecting units easily.

Touch Screen- Would function as the radar, resource display, build/ability menu.
Regular Screen- Would function as the battle map.

Problems with this? Selecting units could be difficult.
Good things about this? Using the stylus to tap the icons and radar and such would be cool.

Those are both good ideas Spartan.

I really hope they make these games, I would definitiley buy the DS for them.

Im game! Like we said before, there is so much potential, but lets just hope the creators make the best of it.

But, you know it is true. I want to see more risks and innovation. Nintendo is the only one doing that. Xbox 360 and PS3 are like super-mega-hyper charged Xbox's and Playstations. But the Revolution is looking to be something totally different.
