Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
The new comedy central show "Mind of Mencia"

Carlos talks about "Why we should upgrade" and one of the items was...

Oh dear god...that was sad...I know all you N64 lovers out there must be crying if you saw it tonight

Carlos said and I qoute...

"If you have one these! you are a retard! if you send this to some kid in a third world country! they WON'T WANT IT!" or something along those lines...

it really was. but i found out something a few months ago: when you have a N64 for a few years, it overheats easily.

never had one overheat. I've had mine since launch.

And trust me... I've played it 6 hours at a time.

We had a van *when I was a bit younger in high school* and when my parents or the tennis team would take trips... we tagged the N64 in the van. We easily played it for 6 + hours at a time.

They designed the AC adaptor (the big box on the back) so it wouldn't overheat. After that, I didn't think overheating was a problem.

Is it still a problem?

BV :hat

yeah, i mean it just started last year. the game will freeze if you touch it too hard and if you've been playing it for a few hours, it won't turn back on until you let it cool down. and i didn't even used to play it that long.

When I played through Majora's Mask I never used the save feature because it was too inconvenient. This meant that sometimes my console would be on for days at a time (no joke, I'd leave it paused while I slept and went to school, then I'd play for an hour or two throughout the evening and leave it on again) and mine NEVER overheated.

I also spilled coke in it before (well, I didn't but its a long story) and I still play it to this day. It even outlasted my GC...

Nintendo products are built to last. I remember MM leaving his GC on for weeks at a time on PSO since you can't save during Quests.

They are. As a matter of fact on the "Mind of Mencia" show they smashed it with a sledge hammer and it still was almost in one piece. True it was a midget that was hammering but still.

I saw the rerun with a friend a few nights ago, and couldn't help but laugh. I was wondering if it would still work. That midget looked like he was having a hard time smashing it.

I was banging the floor when he took the pager and brought it outside for the four "gangsters" to pump it full of lead.
