Nintendo DS Should I bother?

Not when it comes to the design of systems. They did a horrible job with the PSP. Playing it is actually uncomfortable, i'd never get one.

I found playing Metroid on the DS was uncomfortable

Not in everyone's eyes. That's purely subjective.

Well everyone I know prefers PS2 or Xbox, and Retro's statement about Sony being bad was rather subjective also.

But just because you and everyone you know around you prefers a PS2 or Xbox, does not make it fact either. And yes Retro's statement is also subjective.

I'm glad someone else disagrees with "my friend and me" syndrome.

I am one that's glad to see the DS without the analog stick. I played by brother-in-law's PSP and I thought the stick was horrible.

I'm happy for the reason that it promotes 2D gaming in an indirect way.

I understand why they use it though. If people don't have any problems with a console at all, then I say good for them. Everyone should get a working console at first purchase. Sadly that is not the case with electronics.
