3,000 people in one line? Egh, I couldn't imagine that really. Sounds like that would suck.

But. Uhm. To all you people who think Wii can't compete with Sony and Microsoft... ;-)

Iwata has dropped the bomb in the homeland, it's over.

Nintendo's been on a roll in Japan since the DS came out. This is good. If they end up with a bigger use base in Japan than the PS3, the Wii will end up getting more third party support.

I think it would suck considerably more to be a cashier in a store and see a lineup of 3,000 people. I think I would have chosen that day to demand a pay raise. :lol

Well, to be fair, the Xbox 360 is very popular here in the UK and, aside from a few extremists, the Wii and PS3 are not. Personally, I'm a fan of the Wii, but I won't be getting one at launch. I'm not a fan of the PS3, despite being a former Sony loyalist. What's the state of things over in the US?

Depends on who you ask. 360 has some popularity here, most certainly, but nothing on the level of Sony. Nintendo always has a core group and they're looking to overlap that at this time.

However, Sony's making huge mistakes this round and I don't feel they'll be capable of continuing domination. This is Nintendo all over again from the 90s. Consumers yelling, developers hollaring.. Sony's going to have to learn the same lesson Nintendo did. And while Sony is a mega-corp, if their gaming division goes under it's most definitely bad for Sony Corp as a whole. Their stock is in such terrible shape right now, they couldn't handle a faulty Ps3 "launch"/first year.

The scenario as I see it:

Sony fails to sell through a significant portion in Japan as seen by developers.
Developers jump ship to the system with more userbase (this is the DS/Wii).
Dragon Quest IX goes to Wii.
Every Japanese gamer goes to Wii.
Western gamers are heavily affected by this, despite what many here will tell you.

HOWEVER. If you liked your X Box, and you like your 360, keep on liking it. It's like Nintendo's core audience - they're going to cater to you and you're going to love it. In my case? For about twenty years now I've been a Nintendo fan. That's never going to change. There have been other games that have come along and stolen my heart (Xenogears, Devil May Cry, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc), but I'll never forget Mario Bros and that first time. I still play Mario Bros. weekly.

How bout getting two systems. Like in my case, I'll be having a 360 and a Wii. I'll love both of them.

P.S. So there IS a dragon quest game coming to the Wii? :)

Well, DQ Swords is for 100% sure, but I'm just presuming that once the Japanese eat the Wii alive, DQ seems like a natural thing to place there.

I would HAVE to agree... but you know what... I could use those problems :D

That reason is completely slippery slope like. There is virtually no possible way for all of their gamers (or even a large majority of Japan) to even convert completely away from the 360. They simply just have to release sequels from their many series and poof it is that easy. Especially if they continue to make their games only come out as PS3 exclusives. That is the safest bet for them to sell well.
