Mainly due to illegal price fixing and disobeying MSRP (Manufactor's Suggested Retail Price)

Sued amount for ~$233 Million Dollars....YAY CAPTIALISM!

Uhh, you know that isn't the sued amount, right? That's how much they're being forced to pay, so Nintendo's suing.

That's what I said.

Not trying to call you out or anything, but no... there's been no set/disclosed sue amount. Rather, Nintendo's been fined a ridiculous amount of money (233.6mil!)... so they're suing the EUR about it. Of course, one could always assume they're suing for that 233.6mil to make up the difference, but nobody knows yet. They may be just suing for the removal of the fine, or there could be extra money they're wanting.

But that's what I meant....at least I thought I did?

Basically, Nintendo is fined, then counter-attacks EUR with a lawsuit for the difference. Right?

Don't kid yourself, every game company is in it for the money, and nothing more. Greed is the name of the game in this biz. :D

Yeah, not sure there... it hasn't been disclosed. But, since they're saying that the fine is unlawful and illegal, one can assume they're suing for the removal of such penalties, not the money to pay for them. But you never know xD

Just to reiterate.

Nintendo is getting sued for price gouging during the '90's.
Well, no actually. Nintendo was already fined by the European Union for actions in the 90's.

They are now being fined again by the European Union for the same thing, but this time, Nintendo is suing the EU, presumably for the amount of the fine.

There is more going on that just this...

And strubes... it's more than just money... in that aspect. I saw it as sarcastic :p but behind sarcasm can reveal truths too :lol

Manufacturers CAN stop selling products to you for not selling at their MSRP. They cannot control what you sell the product at, but they can control who they sell to. If I am correct, the EU doesn't like Nintendo doing this. I had a couple contacts there explain what is exactly going on, but this has been a couple years in the works.

If I can find the email conversation again, I will post it up.
