Nintendogs to get a special "US Edition" treatment

the US Nintendogs will be released in three editions, each with six different breeds of canines for a total of 18. The Chihuahua and Friends edition will feature German shepherds, King Charles spaniels, Yorkshire terriers, Shetland sheepdogs, and the all-new boxer. The Miniature Dachshund and Friends edition will include beagles, pugs, Shih Tzus, and the new golden retriever and Siberian husky breeds. The Labrador Retriever and Friends pack will contain miniature Schnauzers, toy poodles, Pembroke Welsh corgis, Shiba Inus, and miniature Doberman pinschers.

When I first heard about it I thought "There's no way this will be popular". I've been proven wrong, just like the sales guys who weren't going to sell the original Mega Man back then.
 
I still think it's hype.

I mean, I just can't see how good a pet simulation game can be. It's nothing new or inovative (except for the touch screen features it will have). To be honest, i'm a little dissapointed that this is the most hyped Nintendo game next to Zelda. I guess there's a small chance I could still be prooven wrong, though.

I don't know about that. I played it at E3 and it played really well even though they only gave us five minutes. It just left me wanting more. I honestly am really excited for this game. I can't wait for it to come out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it really hard to get an actual dog in Japan? I believe someone stated it on GFaqs, and that was the reason it was so popular in Japan.
