Mm..it has some good RPG's...but nothing like the PS2 had. We'll see how it all plays out after this gen. :)

I'm really looking forward to Disgaea 3.

well right now it doesn't have as many (well is not as old as the ps2) but it sure has great ones, and without a doubt it has more and better RPGs than other consoles of this gen...depending of what's nintendo's next idea well see who wins the king next gen (i'm 100% sure this wave won't end.. just look at the upcoming RPGs for DS and compare it with everything else).

yeah i'll get the Disgaea for DS then disgaea 3

Did you read the entire article in that link? There's at least 3 more RPG's mentioned. Not just Disgaea.

Eh...like tactical RPG's? Cause I can't think of a good RPG on the DS besides that.

*sigh* please don't make do a list because it wold be too long XD, lets start with the world ends with you, final fantasy 3 (wich is the only american version avaliable so it kinda counts) and also counting the tactical RPGs like advance wars DS/days of ruins
 
I hate to interject but, I do think that there are several fairly decent RPG's on the DS, however there is an overabundance of tacticle RPG's and remakes. One surprise is Summon Night and a few other news ones that are quite interesting, but these new entiries that are not tactic based are few and scattered.

Soo....The World Ends with You, Final Fantasy 3 (I guess), and a bunch of tactical RPG's? I'm sure fhq will agree with you, but I don't see the excitement in TRPG's. Theyr'e just not one of my favs.

those are not the only RPGs on the console.. and actually tactical RPGS count as RPGs anyway... but yeah there's even more "normal" RPGs in the console, if you want i can make a list (and also because you don't like the RPGs on it doesn't mean it isn't the king of RPGs this time around)
 
I would have liked if RHapsody was on the PSP. Regardless this is great news indeed, for NIS is one of my favorite companies as of late.

Yes, please. Tactical RPG's don't do it for me. I guess since it's a handheld though, that's probably the popular genre.
 
Im just slightly confused, is there any incentive to really get Disgaea DS after having just gotte n Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness on the PSP? I want to get the DS one but Im just afraid that it is just going to be the same thing

I'm not fully aware of the details on that game. If it's the same, then you don't need to get it. If it has some extra stuff, maybe look into it.
 
Ah then that will be quite good then, Ive still yet to beat D:AoD and get all of those endings, I cant wait to finish off the midboss or Dark Adonis, one of the most enjoyable characters, lol.

i added the tactical RPGs and RTS with RPG elements because even though you don't like them they are still part of the RPG genre (in some way) but as you can see, compare this with any other list of this gen and you'll see why i belive the DS is the RPG king this time :D...and as you can see there are not so many tactical RPGs :/

Would FF Revenant Wings be in the "tacticle RPG" area persay? Also add in Summon Night: Twin Age DS, just released this week.

Its hard to imagine that PKM Mystery Dungeon is an RPG, that just seems to indicate to me that all of my DS games are RPG type games lol.

But then its hard to imagine that there are so few RPG games considering how long the DS has been out :(
