im in the process of buying my first pc.. im getting it from alien ware... which is better nvidea g-force 6800 or ati radeon?? :-\

I would go with the nvidia 6800, it's cheaper and is a little bit faster. The only thing is that it's quite long. It might get in the way of some RAM slots. If you ever get a chance you should learn how to make one yourself, you get better deals and more than likely would better than an alienware. Oh if you know someone who can overclock a graphics card then you might want to get the ATI card, since it performs a lot better than the Nvidia one when it is. Other than that for you I would get the Nvidia g-force.

If you want power, and don't care about the space I'd say go with the 6800. It also takes up two PCI slots. I'd say it's overall better than the new Radeon IMO.

so everyone is saying go with the gforce 6800. unless i can overclock a radeon

Just remember once you overclock your warranty is void so unless you or someone else knows how to do it properly I would get the G-force. Honestly if I were you I would get the G-Force simply because it performs better with openGL games. ie. Doom 3, etc.

Go for the 6800. The Radeon x800 is nice, but Nvidia beats out ATi this round.

I don't recommend overclocking, as you can ruin more than just your warranty... The card, mobo, powersupply, etc. can all be fried.
