Official Halo 3 General Discussion

I got two of the Meta-Game achievements this morning. Still need to get the rest.

I heard they are making changes to the Matchmaking soon. Lone Wolves will go from 5 players to 6, and they are going to add a Swords type game in Lone Wolves (presumably to help people get the Steppin Razor achievement).

Oh, I got another awesome win today though. Oddball on Guardian, I was in third and then I got the skull from the leader when he was at 49 seconds and I ended up winning by one second. :lol I bet he was pissed.

Actually I had gotten MVP before (twice), but it was in Social Slayer so I didn't get the Achievement. :)
 
Well, I think with some extra equipment you could get on XBL with dialup, but playing online or downloading almost anything would be out of the question.

Yeah, basically. I mean, I have read stuff about people getting like phone cord to ethernet converters and getting on XBL, but basically it just means you are connected to XBL there isn't much you can do.
 
You can probably download stuff, it'd take hella long time though. Playing any kind of multiplayer is pretty much out of the question though.
 
Have any of you noticed that sometimes when you play Lone Wolves, your armor gets set to default for some reason? I've had this happen to me on High Ground and Epitath, and it bugs me because I have my armor all customized.

I wonder if it's some kind of glitch from the armor I normally wear (Hayabusa shoulders, Scout body, Mark V helmet).
 
Does it switch back after the game? Halo 3 has a LOT of glitches to me. One that really ticks me off is that I can't host saved films. The video never loads up and I gotta restart my box to get out of the loading screen.

Last night I also noticed that when I played team slayer and we got shotty snipers on Snowbound, there was a Mongoose instead of a Ghost! Is that normal for that game type on that map?
 
Sorry for DP, but I have a question and don't want to be unnoticed...

Does anybody have problems with theater mode? When I host anything else, there is very rarely ever any lag. But when I go into theater mode with another person, the video will never load. Mai, you've experienced this with me a while ago.
 
Ugh, this weekend, I gotta take on Cortana on Heroic. Eeeehhhh, I hate Flood. And I have to replay Sierra 117, Tsavo Highway, and...one other, just so I can beat it in one sitting, so the game says I did beat it on Heroic.
 
Yes, but I've waited with someone for 15 minutes when if someone else loads up a video of theirs it takes just a minute or two. It just doesn't load.

Yeah, I've never had it happen to me other than when we tried it, but I've also never gone into theater mode with anyone else online, so I don't know. The only issue I've encountered is that if you go into Theater mode with other people while on the same 360, you can watch stuff but you can't record anything or take screenshots, but I think that's how it works anyway.

Anyway, I've been playing lots of custom games. One of my favorites that everyone should try is what is called Speed Shotties!

Basically, you set player speed to 300% and gravity to 50%, make shotguns the only weapoon, and run around like crazy...I suggest High Ground for the map.

Another good one is Pinball, with similar speed/gravity settings....but you make Gravity hammers the only weapon. That works well on maps such as Valhalla, Snowbound (surprisingly), High Ground, and the Pit.

On a side note, when you try to stick someone on such high speed settings, it's really hard. If you manage to do it, it's called a "Speed Stick." :lol
