Official Recent Game Happenings Thread

Tried playing team fortress 2 today, steam refused. :( :'(

Has the Halloween event started for TF2? I have always gotten excited about that in the past. The limited drop system kinda makes it less appealing now though. It's hard to play for the amount of hours that it takes to get drops now (while maintaining job or other responsibilities).

Been playing Bastion. When I first played it a couple of years ago I wasn't feeling it. I recently forced myself to just play it and I started to enjoy it. Not a deep game, very straightforward so it's a good game to just play casually.

I also started Batman again now that WB removed GFWL from both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. So glad they did.

I just finally got around to playing the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3. It was pretty great, if somewhat predictable!

I totally knew Brooks was a traitor!

On Pokemon X, I got to the town where the second gym is, but since my team is fire heavy and it's a rock type gym, I'm going back through and catching more Pokemon and doing some leveling.

In FFXIV, I got my main to 26 CNJ so I just need four more levels and I can get a unicorn and the White Mage job unlocked.

When it comes to retro gaming, I think that I am incurable. I am presently getting my "game on" with original and colour Gameboy games.

I ran across this Gameboy colour clone and have now had it in my hands for three days! It is called the GB Boy Colour.

What attracted me was the thing is backlit!

I am totally impressed and blown away with the quality build of the system. Same as the original as far as I can tell. I have had a lot of clone and cheap electronic gismos from China. (I don't know, I just seem hooked on the stuff) This is the best quality trinket I have ran across. It has so far taken every Gameboy Game that I have to throw at it. Everything seems to run great. I have read that the music seems slightly faster in some games, I can't tell. The backlit screen is a little wider than the "real" GBC, more like an old tube TV aspect ratio. But the distortion is negligible unless you are a purest. At least to me it is okay.

The system is slightly bigger than the "real" GBC. It has all of the inputs and outputs of the real thing, and they are supposed to work. Haven't tried it yet.

This week everything old has become new again. I am reliving the old Gameboy days. :D
I am in retro gaming Heaven. ;D
Yeah I know. It doesn't take much to please me. :lol
Got to play another round of Nemesis. Lets see....what... colour scheme do want to use this time....hmmmmm.

I beat the second gym, now I am working my way to the third gym in Pokemon X. My issue is I keep switching Pokemon so I then have to level them up so everyone's around the same level. :lol

In FFXIV - unlocked White Mage and Black Mage, got Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar to 50, and am currently leveling Archer to 30 so I can get Bard.

I beat the main Villians in Pokemon Y and am heading for my 8th gym.

I have also been playing l4d2 with my good friend I call 'the commie'.

oh and Contagion and No More Room in Hell.

I've been playing Final fantasy legend 3 today on my new GB Boy Colour. Very old school rpg. Busy levelling up! And of course exploring.

The folks were on their way home from visiting friends last week and stopped at a yard sale. There were a small box of Gamecube
games for $5.00 each. They know that one of my consoles is a Gamecube and bought 8 games. Low and behold one of them was the 4 in 1 Zelda!
Way to go pops!

With my new gaming computer, I have been hitting more Skyrim: Dawnguard, played through a bunch of Team Fortress 2's Scream Fortress 2013, have played some Strike Suit: Zero, and have tried my hand at Gotham City for some Batman action!
