Official Super Smash Bros. Brawl Topic

There's a decent back story on why. A small child(represented by Master and Crazy Hand) wants to play with some toys. So he sets up little arenas for them and makes them fight.

Sadly, it's a somewhat more original premise than "wurld turnamint!!!!!1111/!/!!/!?!"

The only real changes seem to be the ponytail, fabric look, and the lack of long fingernails.

Whobby is back(I guess...), so more Brawl news! The first set of Whobby news will be mixed in for easier findings for people new to Whobby news. Due to increasing complaints from...my brain, characters are now sorted alphabetically, and names are bolded, for easier skim searching. Also, I left out the older pictures, and the crap no one cares about, like wait times.

NOTE: There will also be a Whobby next weekend, so expect even more updates.

Last update: 11:08 PM(CST)

Dedede:
He is a heavy, slow, powerful character.
He has 4 mid-air jumps (5 total jumps).
His Waddle Dee throwing attack is weak.
His Up Special has good knockback.
His starting appearance is the Waddle Dee Shrine seen on the Dojo.
He has a pink costume.
He is a starter.
Appears as "Dedede" on character selection
People are under the impression that Dedede is not good. (This is only first impressions that are hours old, keep in mind)
King Dedede has the same voice as his anime counterpart. (Japanese voice. Not 4kids voice)
Waddle Dees are better than turnips in terms of knockback and damage. Dedede's Suction spits out fast, but not very far and has low damage.
More reports of Dedede being very slow with fast atacks, but a conflicting report of his Waddle Dees being useful and spammable.
Attacks are fast, but hammer is sluggish.
His Up Special is completely vertical.
Dedede's Suction is beastly because of it's force and strength.
He cannot move during his Final Smash.
One of his victory poses his him leaning on his hammer.

Diddy Kong:
He's very fast and can 'put hurt on you'.
He has combo attacks, similar to Meta Knight.

Donkey Kong:
DK's Final Smash used correctly can take up 90% of a stage. His FS was originally thought to be ineffective.

Fox:
Fox victory pose: Puts hand on hip, is facing sideways and says something (It was unable to be heard)

Ike:
Victory Pose: "I only fight for those I protect" (May be off due to translation issues)
Ike is being called a noob killer. His Side Special charged can KO Kirby and Meta Knight at 35%. He is being called "too powerful".
Ike Impressions: Eruption has a lot of range and can be used in the air. His Final Smash has more range if you "charge it up"?

Kirby:
Final Cutter has been changed once again.
More confirmation of Kirby sucking up items.
One time during Kirby's FS, Starmen were launched from the pot. The enemies used the Starmen and ended up KO'ing Kirby.

Link:
Link tried to FS an opponent who had a Starman and it failed.
The end of Link's Spin attack is lacking power

Metaknight:
No strong attacks. He's the kind of character that relies on multiple hits.
FS is very strong and has a wide hitbox.
Not much use for gliding.
Taunt: Flaps his wings and does a "warp" or some sort.
People are under the impression that Meta Knight is very good. (This is only first impressions that are hours old, keep in mind)
Meta Knight is a good beginner character.

Peach:
Peach can float cancel.

Pokemon Trainer:
He is a starter.
Appears as "P. Trainer" on character selection
Pokemon Trainer disappears on certain stages. he was not present on Delfino Plaza.
Female Pokemon Trainer news is confirmed FALSE.
We also hear reports of black Charizard (unconfirmed)
UNCONFIRMED: Pokemon trainer's starting appearance is him running to a stop and taunting.
Charizard's has multiple jumps and his Fly is powerful. He flies straight up and burns anything around him.
His flamethrower is identical to Bowser's Fire Breath.
Squirtle's Water Gun is chargable.
Ivysaur is immobile while using Bullet Seed.
PT's Final Smash is very powerful.
Squirtle has fast attacks, but no reach.
Ivysaur is the more balanced of the Pokemon.
Charizard is heavy, slow-medium speed, and attacks using claws and tail mostly.
Pokemon trainer's starting Pokemon is random. So far, it's unconfirmed if the starter can be selectable like Shiek was for Zelda in Melee.
Takes about three seconds to change Pokemon.
Colors: Red, Green, Blue, and Black & White (original GB version).
PT's Pokemon do not have accessories like hats, glasses, ect.
Lots of Invincibility frames when switching Pokemon.
Ivysaur's jumps are quick, but short.
Squirtle's Side Special (Withdraw) is useful and quick, but easy to SD with.
Charizard is not good for FFA according to one person.
Black Squirtle with Blue Pokemon trainer
Pokemon Trainer poses with his last used Pokemon during the results screen.
Two reports of a black Charizard.
Unconfirmed: Pokemon Trainer does not clap after defeat. He lowers his head in shame.
Unconfirmed: Pokemon Trainer does not clap, but his Pokemon used does?
PT quotes from results screen (poorly translated): "My Pokemon's loss is my loss.", "I credit my Pokemon."
From watching, there is no evidence of stamina being incorporated into battle with the Pokemon.
When Pokemon are thrown out to fight, they make their "cry" sound.
Squirtle victory pose: Squirtle runs from in front of the camera, spins around PT and does a victory pose with his left hand. (peace sign maybe?)
Charizard has three jumps.

Samus:
You can't turn into ZSamus at the start of the match at all.
Samus cannot missle cancel.

Deconfirmed Characters:
Ashley Deconfirmed! She appears in the WarioWare stage. So does 9-Volt and Jimmy.

Advanced Techniques:
Dash Crouch Cancelling has changed somehow.

Items:
Smash Balls can be turned off.
New Pokemon: Sheimi(strange, it's an event, it should still be hidden).
Dragoon was seen as an item.
Time Bombs and Spike Bombs are new items.
Muddy Mole is an AT(NOT Monty Mole).
Some people worry that the Smash Ball occurs too much.
Dragoon does 42% damage. It KO'd Mario at 0%.
The Beam sword is much longer than expected.
New Pokemon: Cherim
Barbara(the bat from Animal Crossing) is an AT
Apparently the person saying that Lucario was a Pokeball also said Luigi was a Pokeball...... So rejoice, whoever wanted Lucario in Brawl.
Assist Trophies don't spawn very often.
Stafy is useless
Adeline(from the Kirby series) as an AT.
Darkrai is a Pokeball.
Leafeon, who is one of the new Eevee evolutions is a Pokeball. It fires a grass-type projectile. (Like Chikorita of Melee probably)
Onix, Chansey and Meowth as Pokeballs (The only new one there is Chansey).
Stages:
Playable: Battlefield, Battleship Halbred, Norfair, Hyrule Temple, Onett, WarioWare, PictoChat, Bridge of Eldin, Delfino Plaza, Yoshi's Story, Smashville, Castle Seige, Pokemon Stadium 2, Skyworld, Lylat Cruise(possible update from Whobby part 2)
PictoChat impressions: Some are negative, some are "better than expected."
Onett impressions: Virtually no changes made.
The PictoChat stage sometimes has impenetrable walls and can trap you on a side of the stage.
Attendee's Opinion: Pictochat music was bothering.
Gourmet Race Music (Smash 64's Dreamland stage music) for Halberd Stage.
PictoChat crates are the "Gift Crates" theme.
In PictoChat, there is a part that has lot of arrow pointing up. The characters go flying all over the place and off screen when this part of the stage is present.
Smashville has a balloon that gives you items, like the Shy-Guys in Yoshi's stage.

Everyone's been saying that Ness, Lucario and Jigglypuff are confirmed, but I still haven't seen the proof... I'm sure it'll be available tomorrow. But if so, cool.

How's this for proof:

Nintendo accidentally confirms Lucario, Ness, Jigglypuff for Brawl

ssbb_nessjigglylucario.jpg

A small slip-up on the Nintendo of Japan website has revealed three previously unannounced characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Fan favorites Ness and Jigglypuff will be returning from the previous Smash Bros. titles, while the pokémon Lucario will also be joining the ever-growing ranks.

Nintendo of Japan recently posted a 5-minute video explaining the many features of Brawl. In one section of the video, the sticker-collecting feature is shown off. A small set of icons along the bottom shows which character can equip each sticker, and originally showed small icons depicting Ness, Jigglypuff, and Lucario.

Nintendo of Japan has since updated the video, conspicuously whiting out these icons and effectively assuring us that this is "for real." More than simply confirming new characters, this news also confirms that the Brawl roster will exceed those characters announced on the official blog, which is just good news for everybody. Check out the original, unedited footage after the break. The icons appear very briefly around 4:20.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

I'm excited for Lucario too. :)

This kinda makes me wonder now...I wonder if Roy and Marth will be in. Ness wasn't supposed to cause they didn't want "clone" characters.

and i've heard rumors of the possibility of Shadow eventually making into the game as Sonic's clone

just a rumor though, no proof to back it. Don't get mad at me, if I'm wrong.

Yeah, and a bit more masculine. But not much.
Actually, I think the opposite. The curves seem much more noticeable. Maybe the only masculine thing is that they haven't blocked her eyes this time.

I don't know. That's just what the creator was saying.
