What pisses me off is that their already getting rid of characters on the tournament side of things. Their thinking of banning Marth from all competitive events. So what's the point of making the changes to the characters if this is gunna happen?

CreepinDeth said:Why isn't it? It's an evolution of Melee. You compare them so that you can see what has changed. Just like any new game in any other series will be compared to it's predecessors.
Will it be great? I think so. I've played it for a few hours and had just as much fun as Melee.
But still how is this game completely different from Melee? Maybe you know something I don't.
Eh, character bannings won't happen... or at least I don't think they will. Everyone will get past the "x character is cheap" stage soon enough, IMHO.What pisses me off is that their already getting rid of characters on the tournament side of things. As a Marth user, I respectfully disagree. Please explain this statement to me... how have people "cheated their way to victory"? Marth, at least in SSBM, takes an intense amount of coordination, mindgames, sense of spacing, and technique to utilize effectively. I've been 4-stocked countless times by players using other characters... all because they outsmarted me. Who cares if you have a powerful sword if you don't know how to utilize it correctly, y'know?I've seen way too many people cheat their way to victory using Marth.
CreepinDeth said:I always felt that Marth had an unfair advantage over all the other characters. He was just too powerful in some respects so I see why tournaments would ban him. I personally feel he shouldn't have even been a character in the first place.

kirbyrockz said:How so? I don't recall MLG/Evo/any other established, professional gaming league banning Smash characters...
Fr0dus Maximus said:Not officially, but once the game goes over to the states it shall.
kirbyrockz said:Well, let's hope not... it's not a definite thing yet, and hopefully never will be.
Fr0dus Maximus said:Ok, when I mean 3 categories I mean that all the characters have the same type of FS.
Mario, Samus, and a few others have the same type because its a massive explosion that takes up most of the screen.
Link, Ike, and Marth, plus a few have the same because they do massive damage on a lower scale of the level.
And a few are just part of the "Teh suck FS" category.
Not that much variety in the FS is all I'm saying.

If you ever get worried about facing a Marth, just counterpick with Fox, Falco, or Sheik. All three of them play amazingly well against Marths.
Well, Jason Grifith is still better. U also hear me about Snake's voice right? Is this a place where I need to make another topic called "Which kind of voice acting for Snake is better?"Zidart said:i suggest we celebrate XD Ryan Drummond is the best choice for sonic's voice
