Officially burned out my 4th gaming mouse!

Logitec G5 #II, rest in piece. Your right click no longer works. It is time for you to go the way of G5 #1, G7, and trackball.

I absolutely adore the G5 and have bought two of them.

They are just so hard to find now.

I guess the G700 would be another option. The newer logitech gaming mice have a TON of buttons though, as if they are primarily for MMORPG games.

Grind, you may wanna check out a Cyborg RAT. I've used one for 6 moths now, and I love it. Yes, it's by Mad Catz, but its a very good mouse, surprisingly.

As much as I like rats, that thing looks kinda clunky and uncomfortable. I don't think I've ever seen one in person.

It does have a rather odd look, but it's surprisingly comfortable. I think so, anyway. Hard to tell unless you actually use one, though.

Hey GS, wait until this weekend. I will be home and I can hook you up with a cheap mouse.

Let me know when you're in town. I work Friday evening 'til 10, but am off all Sat. and Sun.

I took a look at what the local Best Buy had to offer. The G700 has WAY too many buttons. It is totally an MMORPG mouse. The Cyborg Rat looked odd. I got a good look at it through the package. I think it would be too drastic of a change from the G5.

The MX518 and G500 look most similar to my precious G5 mouse...

I just read a review on the 700 and it actually is an MMORPG mouse. I say go for the 500. You don't need anything fancy. Just a mouse that responds really well to what you need it to do.

I might have my original G5 at my parents' house still. I'll have to rip it apart and see if I can attach the cable from this one (the non right mouse clicking one) to the old one...

The G5 is just such a great lookin' mouse!

I like the DPI buttons being right there. It's easy access for the index finger without the side of the finger rubbing against it. Also, the texturing just makes the mouse so much more comfortable to hold as compared to the G7's smooth sides.

The Logitech MX518 has recently been updated and renamed the G400. It is pretty much the standard for FPS gaming. It can also be found for under $40.

Since you mentioned that you play WoW, you might benefit from more mouse buttons. The G300 might be more for your needs.

It is also just below the $40 price point.

I still like my RAT5. While it does have a... unique feel, it's certainly not an uncomfortable one. I hear the RAT7 and RAT9 have a lot more in terms of comfort customization, the only reason I went with the RAT5 was because it's a wired mouse and the 7 and 9 are wireless.
