Opinions on Rygar.

On my way home tonight I stopped by a local used book store to check out some of their used games, and I found Rygar: The Legendary Adventure. Is this worth the $10 I paid for it?? I got home late and have yet to play it.
Also, are there any codes or secrets that I may want to know before jumping head first into this game??

it is imo one of the best action adventure games ever! ::D keep in mind that its extremely hard too :o well at times that is... its short but so aesome! no real tricks or things youll have to know though...

Sweet. I watched the trailer last night after logging off the computer for the night. I was like, whoa. It looks cool. I guess I should find some time and play it. :D

Rygar is what I would like to call "A lost treasure" in the PS2 library. You found it for an excellent price and I hope you play it to death, because that is a fine game indeed!

I played it last night, and so far it's an awesome game. But I got stuck on one area. I come up to the statue that has broken into a walkway or something. I get close and it says "slide under the small space to get therough using R1 and X." I spent nearly 30 minutes before calling it quits trying to find this small space. It seems completely blocked off. Any suggestions??

Ares, I tried that. Nothing exists at gamefaqs yet. Or at least I couldn't find anything when I entered "Rygar" for the PS2.

Maryandaj, I tried for like 30 minutes. I'll try it again tomorrow, as I'll have all night being that I have a Saturday off this week.

Dunno. I actually clicked on "PS2" and then I entered in "Rygar." It went to a small list and I clicked on what I thought was a walkthough and I got a list of every game that Tecmo ever made. I'll give it one more hack at the game tomorrow before looking one more time online.

Thanks Creepin!!! I would have never tried that. I would have just tried to slide and slide untill my wife finds me in a fetal position on the floor chanting "I hate Rygar."

No problem. glad I can help.

Okay all, I managed to play for like 15 minutes today and figured out the problem. The area where you gain the ability to slide is where i thought you had to slide at. But this morning I tried something different. I just started to smash stuff at the beginning of the corridors and lo and behold the spot that i am supposed to slide under appeared!! I was way off!! I saved just past that small entryway just before my wife said it was shopping time!!

Okay, now that I am on level two (?) it's starting to become a bit easier. It took me a while to beat the Hekatonchieres in the Colloseo. Mainly because I was just standing there like an idiot getting my tail pounded on waiting for a clean shot. I figured out that I had to smash him a few times and then hang back for a minute.
I have to say though that the main things that keeps me coming back to this game is the music. I have never been a huge fan of classical, but it seems to fit in this game and even make it better.
Maryandaj, you guys are absolutely right. This game is a tough one, but not a progressive one. At times it seems like a breeze to go through, and others it's a pain. I'll keep posting my progress if anyone is interested...
