Huh? Why do you have 3 PS2 consoles? I mean isn't 1 enough? Unless you dont take good care of your console.

No, No...misunderstanding here hehe. I have owned 3 now. I sold the others. I have a bad habit...I buy systems the day they come out...if no good games come along for a while I get bored with it and sell it. Then I'll buy another when more games become available that I want..and the system is a cheaper price. And I have owned two previously..and sold both of them.

So..no I take excellent care of my systems..and the only one I have ever had to break down on me was my first Xbox..PS2 always performed well..with the exception of my first PS2 had a hard time playing some early multi-layer DVDs back in the day.

So anyways this PStwo that my wife got me for X-mas will be my third one...and prolly my last too hehe.

And for the record I have owned 2 Xboxs, and 2 Gamecubes as well lol. Its just a habit I have.

Well...I do think the PS2 myth is a little exagerated. Let's not forget how much more they sell compaired to XBOX's and Gamecube's, so of course the ratio for breaking down is gonna be higher. I've never had a single problem with my PS2 or both PSones i've had though, and neither have my friends.

exactly... that could be a big factor in that as well..... plus how many more Ps2 there are in the world compared to the Xbox / Gamecube.
That definitely could play a huge part into the increased number of returns.

I am just saying if you ask any old Game shop that repairs systems... you'll get that answer (most of the time). Its not exaggerated, the stats are there. But there are so many Ps2's out there that is probably why the numbers are higher.

man... did you see how many Ps2's were sold in Japan alone (same thing with the GBA's...) it was enough for each person to have a couple... or something like that :lol

Meh... back on topic :p I complimented the New Pstwo... so go with that :lol

Grrr..Bv was being bad!

Well Dr_Ackula I understand what your talking about now, I thought that you didn't take good care of your consoles so that's why I figured that. Heh...tons of consoles you've bought and sold, may I ask what prices did you sell them at? Did you sell them at a pawn shop? :lol

I cannot remember exact prices to be honest, but no I have never sold anything to a pawn shop...or traded games in at an EB, Babbages ect...they are all rip-offs big time. Generally I try to get my money outta anything I sell, and the last 4 systems I have sold actually were sold to family members. So usually on average I take maybe a 10% loss in what I paid for systems...I usually try to sell them when they still have a good market price, instead of waiting till a new system launch is coming up and no one wants an older system u know.

I kinda think of it as extended renting lol. Once a system gets old to me I just sell it off until it gets interesting again, then I buy a new one at a cheaper price..cuz they always come down in prices after a bit u know. And the systems I listed that I have sold don't hold a candle to all that I have owned and sold in the past...several Dreamcasts, Saturns, SNES's, 3D0's, ect.

But if the systems are any good at all I always end up with them again...currently all I have system wise is Xbox, PS2, PS1, SNES, NES, Dreamcast, Saturn, Neo-Geo CD, Neo-Geo pocket, 3D0, CD-I, Genesis, Sega CD, Turbograffix 16. And I'm pretty content with them all at this point and don't think I'll be selling any for a long time to come :D

I hav the Nes, Super Nes, Gen, PS1, PS2, X-Box, GBA Sp,
Gamecube w/ Game Boy Player, Consolized 2-slot MVS unit,
Game Gear, NGPC & Sega Dreamcast. :woot

Coming soon is the Core Grafx w/ Super CD-Rom 2 attachment & a Black
Sega Saturn package. :woot

I want the Nintendo DS Handheld System & the Sony PSP Handheld
System too. :lol :woot

My boss at Wal-Mart told me today that the PStwo has been recalled. I am not sure of the reason behind it though. But it's looking like the retail shortage of PStwos will continue until at least January.

Cool you work at Wal-mart! Why did it get recalled? My buddy just purchased one and is having problems with his memory card. He tells me that it asks him to format his memory card in order for him to use it for some apparent reason. :-\

why is it recalled?

I don't know. My boss said, "Because it sucks." :lol (She's on her third PS2, I believe). I asked her to print out the email for me, but she had to leave suddenly because of a family emergency.

I think what really happened was that we actually have some in stock but we can't sell them because they are in our weekly add for December and if we sell them now, we won't have any after the ad comes out and then people will complain even more. So not a "recall" persay, just a "pull from shelves" kind of thing.

My wife was super-nice enuff to go ahead and give me my PStwo last night. I experienced no problems what-so-ever outta mine. Memory cards were fine after I formatted it (new mem card), all games and DVDs I threw at it worked flawlessly..I tired many different DVDs that I know have some issues with older DVD players including several region 0 Chinese and Japanese ones, and about 11 PS1 titles. I played the system for around 9 hours without shutting it off, and it barely felt warm, so I don't forsee any overheating issues.

The size is really something when you actualy see it in person and hold it in your hands, its so tiny, I really like that because I have limited space to organize all my 11 consoles that stay hooked up in my living room. The small PStwo can fit almost anywhere easily =D

I can see now how they managed to make it so small as well...the power supply is external. Its a cord going from the back of the PStwo to a huge (almost as big as the system actually) AC adapter that then in turn has a plug-in for another cord that is the actual plug in for your wall socket.

Anyways its all good as far as I can tell, no problems at all =D

Hmm...seems that you had alot of fun with your new PStwo there Dr_Ackula "9 hours without shutting it off, and it barely felt warm" is good! Mines get's warm when I leave it on overnight, but still plays everything fine and its one of the first PS2's that was released.

I'd wish that my parents be nice to me and let me open my gifts all early, dont know if I would ever leave my room. *doesn't leave it anyways*

Glad that your having fun with the PSTwo, have you got online with it yet? I heard that it had a built in network adapter, does it have 56k and broadband connections in the back? Just curious. :D *continues playing his PS2*

I don't have any online games yet, so nope. But yah it has both 56k and broadband ports on the back of it. And yeah I have had alot of fun with it so far lol. GTA San Andreas is a trip....
