Okay I have a question in regards to unplugging my old CD-ROM drive and installing my CD-RW drive. I can't figure out how to unplug the Host Interface connection from the CD-ROM without feeling like I'm going to rip the whole thing apart. Are there some small clips that I need to worry about?? I can't pull it out far enough to see the whole backside.

Also, the box for the CD-RW says it's also a CD-ROM. Is this true?? I couldn't find a new CD-ROM, but I also don't want to make a huge mistake.

Well it's better that it's also a cd-rom, or else all you would be able to do is burn cd's but not be able to read them, but I dont think they make any type like that. I know it's a pain but you have to pull it hard. Wiggle it a little bit. Or if you have a spare slot you can just plug in the cd-rw right next to the original cd-rom and have both at the same time.

I think I have a spare slot. I just wish my CR-ROM never stopped working. It just doesn't get any power.

Well, the deed is done. Now for another question.
How do I write stuff on CD-Rs?? If I stick in a blank CD, will it automatically set it up?? I have a set up disk, and I stuck it in, but it doesn't have any set up stuff. Or maybe I just didn't bother looking. I also want to know if I can burn pictures on a CD with this CD-RW. Or do I need a DVDR??

Did it come with software? That's what makes the burner work. If not you can always download one from downloads.com. I heard the program Nero is the best and it's free. From there the software should tell you how to work it.

It is Nero. I am just used to loading the disk, and it installing on it's own. This one opens a menu and has a few selections. One was Acrobat reader 4.0. But since I have 3.0x, I have to uninstall it for 4.0 to work properly. And I figured that I'll do that when I uninstall Aol tomorrow morning.
