Playing imports

I don't know about 2 memory cards, but I do know you need a freeloader.
Normally... things like this don't require a memory card at all... just loads into memory and then you swap the discs.

I wish I could find the freeloaders..... I don't know how to get them... as I have been trying to bring some in. there are some great Gamecube import shooters (Shmups).

Lik-sang.com has them bundled with alot of games as does play asia and NCSX.

I hear the Gamecube reformats memory cards when saves from 2 regions are present. I have not once got comfirmation on that.

importmadness.com was where I got my freeloader. I needed one to play Mega Man Aniversary Collection. Handy little things.

And no, you don't need 2 memory cards. Just the freeloader disc. You put the disc in, wait for a while, then put the import game in and start playing. :)

You can NOT have US and Japanese GC savefile on the same memory cart. The GameCube will reformat the memory card each time you switch the regions of the games. This has been confirmed by several of the folks over at the Shmups Forum (www.shmups.com). I also suspect that you can not have a Euro and Japanese savefile on the same memory cart either.

I know this sad story all to well, I just erased my RE0 saves last week when loading my JP Crazy Taxi game. After telling the few friends that are actually interested in playing the GC to remember about the cards, I go and forget. At this rate, I'm never going to get around to playing my RE4. ::)
