Please Tell Kaz Your Likes And Dislikes Of "FF X" It Would Help Me Out

It makes me want to fire the game up again as well...

The only things keeping me from doing so are that I still need to beat Final Fantasy V Advance on the GBA and Silent Hill 2 on the PS2.

Any tips on the Chocobo Racing or Butterfly Catching games? I could never get either Tidus's or Kihmari's ultimate weapons because those two mini games were so frustrating.

I was able to get both of those, but you are right, they are very frustrating. I don't really remember the butterfly one, but I know the Chocobo racing is pretty much just luck. I remember doing it over and over and over and then one time I just got it. The really fun one is Lulu's where you have to dodge 250 lightning bolts in a row :D The only ultimate weapon I never got was Wakka's and I never really cared to.

Just getting through the story of the game and getting to the ending is far easier than the side quests available after getting the airship back.

I think gaining the ultimate weapons and fighting in the monster arena is more difficult and time consuming than just plain beating the game.

Definitely. I think that is part of why it's such a great game, because the main game is easy and short enough for casual fans, yet there is plenty of content to cater to those wanting a bit more of a challenge. It's just a very well polished game in my opinion.

This.

I absolutely love blitzball, even though I can't lose anymore. :lol

The chocobo racing is soooooooo frustrating, but so insanely rewarding once you actually do it.

I really liked leveling up in the Omega Ruins, although by the time I did that and went on to finish the game, I was completely overleveled and had a really easy time even with the final boss. :lol

Did anyone ever get all the celestial weapons powered up and everything? every time i tell my friends that i did... they say i have no life T_T

I did for everyone except Wakka. I also got every Aeon in the game including the secret ones and beat every enemy in the battle arena {a few of the huge enemies were quite difficult}. I put a ton of time in FFX and honestly I never really got tired of it.

I did for all but a few Zi.

That's pretty much the extent that I ended up playing too. :)

I didn't. I was probably ten last time I played it, I got frustrated and shelfed it. I should break it out sometime soon. You guys are making me feel like I'm missing something. xD

Has the best battle system out of all the Final Fantasy's and I do include that over FF XIII. Also has the best level up system next to FF IX.

Tidus isn't annoying as people want you to beleive. He's the best main "pretty boy" in FF history. Still, even if you do find him annoying, there's always Auron, who is criminally been forgeotten about by Square Enix. Also the music is fantastic. Love the battle theme.

Thrav, you finally found a hard copy of CSS?

Back to FFX:

Tidus is whiny at the beginning, but, his character develops. All of the characters show some development. They are not static, boring characters that are obvious from the beginning of the game. That is one of the elements that really made certain FF games stand out. The end of the game is NOT the initial quest the protaganists set out to complete.

There is so much that is great about that game. I am tempted to go for a run through to just beat the game. It is difficult not to get side-tracked by all the mini quests once free to use the airship though...

Totally agree about Tidus. I was put off by him initially, by he really grew on me by the end of the game. Tidus goes through one of the largest character transformations I've witnessed in a game. You literally watch him grow from an annoying boy into a man.

Final Fantasy X is one of my favourite games ever. Top 10 no doubt.

I like almost everything about it but if I had to pick one thing it would be the Sphere Grid. It's the perfect levelling system because it enables you to have full customization over your characters (especially if you use the Expert Sphere Grid in the International version of the game) and isn't too needlessly complex. It's also fun doing No Sphere Grid challenges, I'm thinking of starting one later this year.

The only system that rivals it is Final Fantasy XII's Liscense system, but I HATE Final Fantasy XII, so...

As for dislikes, my only major gripe with the game is the Cloister of Trials. I have no idea how the developers could have possibly thought that people would enjoy tedious puzzle games, and if you don't 100% each one you miss out on one of the best summons later.

That's a very minor issue I have with an otherwise perfect game, though.
