Pokemon Black/White Thread

Be careful! The levels ramp up insanely after you beat Ghetsis. Going through the parts of the region you couldn't before, the wild Pokemon are in the 60s, and trainers you fight have level 65 and above Pokemon. If you go to Undella Bay, the Pokemon champion Cynthia from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum is in one of the houses. I still haven't beaten her yet and my highest Pokemon is at 66 now.

It does make it easy to level, though.
Yeah, I explored east of victory road a bit and all the trainers had mid-60's. It's a huge jump, but I guess they need high levels with the new leveling system.

i am kind of saddened by the fact they went to three Pokemon battling at one time. i think two were plenty!

I just fought Alder finally, and man, he was a complete cakewalk compared to Ghetsis.

I took out Alder's entire team with just Gyarados (level 77) and Darmanitan (77). :lol

I beat the E4 and Ghetsis.

I defeated his Hydreigon by cheating, sort of. I switched Raikou into my party (had gotten him by using the Relocater). Raikou's Ability is Pressure, which makes Pokemon use more PP when they make a move. Hydreigon's moves, except for Surf, are all 5 PP, so it ran out of moves pretty fast. When it got down to just Surf, I stuck my Serperior in there and waited it out. Eventually when it ran out of Surf, I was gonna put in my Darmanitan and finish it with a Fighting move, but Hydreigon was low on HP so when it struggled, it knocked itself out. :lol

BTW, tried to post that under spoiler and it said I couldn't. Glitch?

LOL! smart to use Raikou in that way. i battled the hard way and lost 4-5 times before i succeeded.

April 13th. POKEMON GLOBAL LINK finally kicks off!

So after spending a pretty good amount of time with all three starters, I have to say that the Snivy line is my favorite of this gen.

It's hard to be excited about Emboar after having a Sheer Force Darmanitan, though.

Favorite Pokemon so far this gen:
Serperior
Darmanitan
Hydreigon
Galvantula
Krookodile

Agreed. The Snivy line is just awesome. Althought I don't get why everyone seems to like Galvantula. Everyone seems to love it, but I've hated it from the second I caught the first evolution lol.

If I'm not mistaken, it's because a Galvantula with the Compound Eyes ability can use Thunder with 100% accuracy.

Gyrados has always been a strong Pokemon ever since the beginning! i am not surprised that it helped you defeat Alder.

Gyarados always had high attack stats but suffered as a water Pokemon because water moves were based on special attack, which weren't as high on Gyarados.

They changed that, though in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, and made it so that some moves are based on attack and some moves are based on special attack. So now if you give Gyarados moves based on attack (like Waterfall, Ice Fang, and Earthquake), you have a pretty awesome Pokemon.

:o :o YOU CAN TEACH HIM EARTHQUAKE NOW!??!?!?! :o :o

i didn't know that!

Yeah you can use the Earthquake TM to teach it to Gyarados. Gyarados is pretty fast, so you have a good chance of knocking out electric Pokemon with E-Quake if you get the first attack.

oh yeah for sure! Gyrados has always been a very reliable Pokemon. he is my second favorite non-starting original pokemon, my first favorite is Arcanine!

I ended up getting Pokemon White. Knowing all that I knew, I was able to build a team from the start that made beating Ghetsis not a problem.

So my team in White that I used to beat Ghetsis:
Emboar
Galvantula
Rufflet
Carracosta
Krookodile

and Zekrom but I didn't really need to use him, since the others covered it.

Galvantula's amazing speed combined with Signal Beam took Ghetsis's toughest (IMO) Pokemon, Hydreigon, to half health, and when he got knocked out I switched in Emboar (who surprisingly did not faint to a Surf) and then used a fighting move on Hydreigon and knocked it out. After that it was cake.

For his Eelektross I used Galvantula's Gastro Acid to negate Levitate and then switched in Krookodile and used Bulldozer. ^_^

Incidentally, that's why we got FireRed and LeafGreen (instead of something like WaterBlue) when they remade the original games on the GBA. ^_^

i had figured that out about leaf green because i had known about the original Pokemon version in Japan which was just green. it wasn't hard to put 2 and 2 together :P
