Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver screenshots (and a little video)

For those that don't know, there's remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver coming to DS. They are coming this fall in Japan, and likely next Spring for the US. Generation II (Gold and Silver) was my favorite in the series, as well as by a lot of others. That link has screens and the announcement video before the Pokemon anime in Japan. Fast foward to 4:18 if you just care about seeing the video of the game.

I like the idea of the Pokemon following us again, that was nice in Yellow version. Hopefully they will follow us even when they evolve. !

Looks like the remake is bundled with a new accessory! A very useful one at that!

Pokemon Pedometer

Dubbed the Poké Walker, the bundled item sends infrared signals to the DS and can be used to hold one Pokemon as you walk around, building experience and gain "watts" which are type of currency. Think of it, as a new "Pokemon Pikachu" device.

Im definitely getting HeartGold. Why do we still not have a release date for Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky?

Omg, I LOVED the originals. These games were my entire life in second grade, and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting both of them. :D :D :D

They could have picked better names though.

woah....slow down there buddy. Kotaku is always a very reliable source so i think Mega does a good job of always quoting it (along with joystiq and the magic box).

it's just a semi-release date announcement.. it's better than nothing...certainly most companies do this kind of thing.

The last time I checked Kotaku reported on that fake German PS3 Slim image last week.two weeks ago. It wasnt until numerous people told them and all the other sites that it was a fake image, and theyve made other blunders.

It would have been wiser to just link to the press release for this announcement of Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver, or even to IGN where they at least included Nintendo provided character art and the logo.

I wasnt aiming to criticize I was just saying. I mean you always post the news links before I could possibly attempt to choose other choice links and you have a pretty good handle on things. There isnt much for me to do.
