That pokemon online idea sounds great, but I have a better idea- maybe a pokemon MMORPG, since they seem to be really popular right now. I don't play the old games anymore, but I'd pick that up if they made it, if I ever get a faster internet connection than crappy 56k aol.

I thought that's what we were talking about?

Pokemon MMORPG would be kinda weird, with it's rock, paper, scissors type combat system matches wouldn't necessarily always be fair, also other problems may arise

But it's not as simple as rock, paper, scissors. I havent played it in a while so I dont know how the combat has changed, if any changes were made.

the last I have played was ruby/saphirre and one of the major changes was the addition of special abilities, with dual types can be hurt with a 4x modifer instead of just 2x

Well I wasnt aware of that Link, but I definitely know what you mean in that the online fighting could be a little unfair. But thats whats cool about making it online, they could make so many changes to the game for the better.

how many games do you know of that they have totally revamped in order to make it online?

haha my bad I saw Drays avatar and just thought it was Link.... haha
Im not saying they would revamp it, but Im sure that by taking the game online they would be forced to make changes.

guys, Pokemon is a rock-paper-scissor game basically. Fire beats plant, plant beats water, water beats fire. Then a couple other types with strengths and weaknesses. That's why you needed a balanced team which made the game have a lot of customization. And Pokemon is an RPG, so it would be an MMORPG. And I haven't played any of the new Pokemon games but I'd rather have the Red/Blue/Yellow version gameplay online with the original 162 pokemon, none of these newer (and sadly not as appealing) Pokemon.

Yes but like I said it's a lot more than that since those arent the only attributes pokemon have. There's lightning, sound, psychic, etc.

I agree with you there.

This is the entire list of attributes:

Fire
Water
Grass
Psychic
Fighting
Dark
Rock
Ground
Ice
Steel
Electric
Bug
Flying
Ghost
Poison

I'm pretty sure there's two more. Sound isn't one of them.

we're talking about original pokemon so um:
Water
Grass
FIRE
Psychic
Fighting
Dark
Rock
Ground
Ice
Steel
Electric
Bug
Flying
Ghost
Poison
Normal

how'd you forget Fire btw?

still people would be constantly switching their pokemon out for others then, and you can't have a team that would be fair in every situation

Well then you limit the amount of swapping. So you're forced to stratagize rather than just beat everybody up with your 'balanced' team.
